The moon hung in the sky like a radiant jewel, casting a soft, silvery glow over the Chauhan mansion's courtyard. Khwahish had retreated here after dinner, seeking the tranquility of the night air to ease her thoughts. She stood there, lost in the beauty of the moment, when a sound nearby made her heart skip a beat.

But as she turned, a smile broke across her face, illuminating her features. It was Armaan. He stood there, a presence that was both familiar and yet filled with the weight of unspoken emotions.

For a moment, they merely stood there, their eyes locked, each word and sentiment exchanged in that unspoken connection that had always been a hallmark of their relationship. Khwahish hadn't forgotten the pain, the questions that still lingered, but she was trying to find a way to move forward, to find happiness once more.

As they faced each other under the moonlit sky, Khwahish's heart held a mixture of forgiveness and longing. She knew that healing took time, that the scars wouldn't vanish overnight, but she was willing to take a step towards rebuilding what they once had.

Armaan, dressed in a white kurta, looked ethereal in the moon's glow. His presence felt like a balm to her wounded heart, a reminder of the friendship they had once shared. Khwahish found it hard to tear her gaze away from him. He seemed to embody a sense of peace and renewal, a symbol of the hope she held onto.

Under the gentle glow of the moon, Armaan and Khwahish shared a moment of lightheartedness, a welcome break from the weight of the past.

Armaan's playful comment broke the silence, drawing a chuckle from Khwahish as her gaze remained fixed on the moon.

Armaan: "Well, it seems like someone has again adopted a habit of talking to the moon."

Khwahish couldn't resist the opportunity to tease him back.

Khwahish: "Who said that? What are you doing here?"

Armaan's response was filled with a subtle understanding.

Armaan: "I'm doing exactly what you're doing."

Khwahish's smile broadened, appreciating the shared moment of seeking solace under the moon's comforting presence.

Khwahish:" It seems like my theory about the moon has struck a chord with someone."

Armaan's laughter joined hers, echoing softly in the tranquil night.

Armaan: "Perhaps someone has taken your theory to heart. The moon has always held a special place for me"

Khwahish's heart fluttered at his words, sensing a hint of familiarity and shared sentiment.

Armaan: "So how's your sessions going?"

Khwahish: "Going great."

The words were exchanged with a hint of hesitance, as if both of them were stepping on fragile ground. The surface-level response hung in the air, carrying with it a weight of unspoken words, a desire to dive deeper into the matters of the heart.

But as the silence settled in, it was evident that both Armaan and Khwahish were struggling to find the right words, a way to navigate the complexity of their feelings. The moon, ever the silent witness, offered them a gentle respite, a moment to embrace the calm, to let the world fade away, and to allow their souls to speak the unspoken.

Khwahish's heart was a swirl of emotions, and she felt a surge of gratitude for the peaceful environment that allowed her to regain her composure. She wanted to tell Armaan about the progress she had made, the growth she had experienced since their paths diverged. But the memories, the pain, and the yearning were a tangled web, making it difficult to articulate her thoughts.

Khwahish looked at Armaan, her heart heavy with sentiments she couldn't express. In that moment, the silence spoke volumes, and she knew that their journey towards healing had begun, one step at a time.

Armaan felt the same, his gaze meeting Khwahish's with a depth of understanding that transcended words. Khwahish couldn't help but gaze into his eyes, feeling captivated by his eyes. But unable to handle the intensity, she quickly made an excuse and said she was going to sleep.

Khwahish: "I'm going to sleep now."

Armaan nodded, a slight smile still on his face. They both understood the unspoken emotions between them as she retreated back inside, leaving Armaan to gaze at the mountains once again. The moment left them both longing for more, their hearts yearning for a deeper connection yet to be explored.

.Next day,

Khwahish's POV:

I sat beside saina, listening to Dharam Kaka as he shared stories about their family's history. Armaan wasn't there; he had gone to pick up a friend from the airport.

In the meantime, Armaan's mom started telling me about the delicious Rajasthani food they were preparing. I expressed my eagerness to try it, and she kindly invited me to accompany her to the kitchen. I smiled and nodded in excitement.

In the kitchen, Armaan's mom, along with Chachiji, and I began preparing the food. As we were busy cooking, I received news of Armaan's arrival. He had returned with a girl who was breathtakingly beautiful. I learned that her name was Kanak.

She entered the kitchen and warmly embraced Aunty and Chachiji. Kanak, with her cheerful demeanor, curiously asked about me. Aunty introduced me as Ridaanshi's friend, and Kanak greeted me with a smile, shaking my hand. She mentioned that we would catch up after she freshened up, and she headed to the guest room.

As Aunty and Chachiji continued their conversation, they discussed Kanak. Aunty expressed sympathy, saying she was a good girl.

Chachiji remarked that no one could compare to Kanak when it came to being perfect for Armaan. I gasped, feeling the weight of their words.

I asked Chachiji who she was, and she revealed that Kanak was the girl Armaan was supposed to get engaged to. I simply nodded, fighting back tears that threatened to spill.

Aunty expressed her regret, saying Kanak was the best match for her son, but she couldn't understand why both of them broke off the engagement.

She wondered why they didn't give their relationship more time. Unable to bear the conversation any longer, I excused myself and retreated to my room.
