Okay, okay, here's a REAL chapter.

"Hurry up, Lilacpaw!" called Webpaw, failing to keep the impatience out of her voice. Blazepaw gave Webpaw a dirty look, and then went into the apprentice's den.

Blazepaw wasn't surprised when she saw that Lilacpaw was curled up in a ball, her paws shaking. "Hey, are you okay?" asked Blazepaw gently. Lilacpaw just shook her head. After a few heartbeats, Blazepaw asked, "What's wrong?" Suddenly, Lilacpaw couldn't hold it in anymore.

"I'MSCAREDOFGOINGONPATROLANDIJUSTWANTTOSTAYINCAMPWITHTHEKITS!" For a moment, Blazepaw looked shocked at the outburst, but then she just looked... sad. "C'mon, Lilacpaw. I know you would rather stay here, but this clan needs you. Please, just go with Webpaw."

"What about you? Aren't you coming with us?" asked Lilacpaw. "I'm going to go look for some herbs or something, I dunno," shrugged Blazepaw. "You can't just leave Lilacpaw like that!" Webpaw padded into the apprentice den, offended. Blazepaw sighed, her own patience running thin.

"Look, I'm going to go. You guys either do what you're supposed to or not, but don't come crying to me when we have nothing to eat tonight," remarked Blazepaw coolly. She walked out, tail swishing irritably. "...I guess we better go," mused Webpaw. Lilacpaw said nothing for a few heartbeats. Then, quietly, "I guess so."

When they left camp to go into the nearby forest soon after, Webpaw ran ahead, looking around for prey, while Lilacpaw trailed behind, taking in the beauty of Leaf-fall for as long as possible.

She smiled to herself, thankful that Blazepaw had convinced her to go after all, when all of a sudden, she heard someone call,  "Hey there, kit!"

Lilacpaw spun around to see a dark brown she-cat with rosettes emerge from a nearby bush. "You're not Webpaw!" she cried. "Indeed I'm not," the she-cat said, not even bothering to hide her amusement.

"Um, uh, well- JOIN OUR CLAN!" Lilacpaw licked her paws, embarrassed. The loner looked thoughtful for a moment, then asked, "How many of you are there?" "Six," Lilacpaw replied sheepishly.

"How old are the others?" "Uh, six moons, six moons, four moons, four moons, and-" "Four moons?" "Yeah."

"I'm sorry," she apologized, "I'm from TulipClan, but I left. I just want to find a big clan that can protect me from them. I was their only medicine cat, you see, and they're not too happy that I'm gone. There's no use in making you six their targets," the former TulipClan cat explained.

Lilacpaw saw her reasoning, but she still had to try. "Please?" she begged, knowing it wouldn't work. "No. I really am sorry, if it helps at all." The dark she-cat began to walk away. "Well, what's your name, at least?" Lilacpaw asked desperately. "Brighthawk," she said, not even bothering to turn around.
