Lightbulb was friends with everyone throughout high school. But, in her senior year, everything fell apart. A transfer student came. Her name was Test Tube. Naturally, they became friends faster than Test Tube could say hi to the class. She was talking to Test Tube about something she'd told everyone else, that she was trans. She, actually had no problems with it.

One day, she was talking to her other friends once while Test Tube was gone, and it clicked for the all of them. She had a crush on Test Tube. It was actually kinda obvious after that. Her face went red and warm whenever she even looked at Test Tube. She was teased about it by Fan and Paintbrush a lot. I mean, Test Tube was a huge nerd.

Test Tube got bullied, and was only stood up for by Lightbulb. In fact, her whole friend group was bullied a bit. Usually not to face, but they didn't care if they did do it to their face. Her friend group was Fan; the "geek", Paintbrush; the "unknown gender freak" (Only Paintbrush's family and close friends knew that they were non-binary), Marshmallow; who was the only "normal" one, Apple; the "moron", and Bow; the chair-obsessed "freak". All of these were at least slightly true. But it hurt!

Paintbrush, Lightbulb, and Marshmallow were the only ones who weren't up-front bullied. Paintbrush, because they were tall and intimidated everyone else. Lightbulb, because her mom and dad were both teachers there. Marshmallow, because her dad was the principle. Her mom was also a well-respected chef at Gelatin's Steakhouse.

Lightbulb knew everything about Test Tube from the fact that her natural hair colour is brown, to the fact that she's never gotten braces. Lightbulb went on rants to Paintbrush and Fan whenever Test Tube wasn't there. It was kinda clingy and freaky how much Lightbulb knew about her. I mean, she knew everything about her.

"...Her glasses are slightly scuffed from a 7th grade science experiment. She broke them down the middle twice, and fixed it with electrical tape. She needs to replace it once every two months or it falls off again. She chipped her left front tooth in 4th grade trying to play basketball. Apparently, she's not very athletic. She broke her dominant arm, which is her left, twice, and broke her right wrist once. Heh, trying saying that 10 times fast. Right wrist, right wrist, right wrist, ight wrrist, right ist..." Lightbulb said, going into utter gibberish. "She gets spring allergies, and is allergic to peanuts. I figured this when I offered a Reese's cup and she freaked out. It was kinda funny. And sh-"

"Enough with your ranting!" Fan said, after she cupped her hand over Lightbulb's mouth. "We don't wanna know anything about Test Tube! No offense, wherever she is."

"She's sick, Fan." Paintbrush said, clearly slightly annoyed. They didn't want to hear anyone talking at the moment, as they had a major headache.

"Ohhh, right." Fan went back to writing on her math homework that was already due in 2 minutes time.

Marshmallow spoke up, "I have a massive headache, will you all shut up! My head is pounding!"

"What does that mean?" Apple asked.

"Kumquat, how did you even get into high school?" Bow asked, clearly not missing a spot to make fun of Apple, but managing to miss that Apple is her name.

"It means that my head really hurts, and you should all stop talking." Marsh said, visibly annoyed.

"Sorry, sorry." Lightbulb said, and shut up, along with everyone else.

They were unlikely friends, really. Test Tube was smart, and neat, and organised. She couldn't go a second without having to organise something. She never got less than a 95% on an assignment. On the other hand, Lightbulb was, uh, dim to say the least. She was messy. All her stuff was only organised because Test Tube had nothing better to do. She barely got more than a 70% on any of her assignments. But, they were nonetheless best friends. Lightbulb even made matching yellow and green rubber band bracelets to prove it.

// That's all! It's pretty short, but I swear I'll make the first chapter have upwards of 1000! I'm really excited about where this is going, and I want to upload a chapter at least once a month! Hope you guys like it! Until next time, Chez. Total word count - 728 //
