Chapter 5

When we entered we immediately separated into our groups and went our own ways. "What rides do you want to get on?" Jaxx asked as he looked at me waiting for me to answer "uhm... I don't know," I said as I looked away and looked at the many rides that were here, most of them were fast, dangerous, and made me cringe when they went down. The feeling in your stomach is unbearable when you get on those types of rides, if I could I would get on rides that are for children... I then felt my stomach growl out of hunger and Jaxx stopped to look at me.

"Are you hungry?" He asked, slightly tilting his head to the side. I nodded and as I was looking for a place where we could buy food. Then a random person ran and shoved me onto Jaxx 'oh god-' I gasped as I felt Jaxx's arms on me. I quickly pulled away and I saw that the person who was running was a child. I started to get flustered and all red and so I tried to cover my face with my hands but then I felt Jaxx grab my wrists, my eyes widened, "are you ok?" He asked concerned "I-" I tried to say but couldn't seem to talk at all because of pure shock.

I started to take deep breaths to calm myself as I looked at the ground. I slightly moved my wrists as a sign that I wanted him to let go of me and he let go. "Can we find something to eat now-" I muttered but because of the large number of people here he didn't hear me so he said "what was that?" He said getting closer to me to hear me.

'Could this get any worse?' I thought as I slightly backed away "uh- let's find something to eat now-" I finally said as I turned to look at him, he smiled and nodded we then continued walking and I could see couples holding hands and having fun together 'I wonder how that's like' I thought to myself I then heard Jaxx speak again.

"So what exactly do you want?" he asked "uhm, something sweet?" I said not fully knowing what I wanted, I then tapped on his shoulder and we both stopped walking. He looked at me and I turned my head to a stand where a man was selling cotton candy. "Alright!" He said as he walked towards the stand and I followed.

"What flavor do you want, Levi?" Jaxx asked as I stood beside him looking at the man who was waiting for us to order "uh, what flavors are there?" I asked and the man started to say "well, there's blueberry, orange, strawberry, and grape!" He smiled 'strawberry sounds good.... Grape does too..' I thought 'why am I overthinking about flavors?' I said to myself I then heard Jaxx speak "hmm, blueberry sounds good! I'll take one," he said, pulling out his wallet. Him pulling out his wallet made me remember I didn't bring mine.

"Fuck.." I said angry at myself for forgetting my wallet "what happened?" He said as he was looking at me. "I forgot my wallet-" I grunted "that's fine I'll pay for you!" He said, "No, it's fine." I denied as I put my hands inside the pockets of "my" Jacket, "No, I'm going to pay." He insisted and I looked at him confused "are you sure?" I said and he nodded his head.

"Fine, I'll get.. a strawberry one." I told the man and he started making the cotton candy for us. "After we get the cotton candy, what games do you want to play?" Jaxx asked, "what do you mean?" I said not knowing what he was talking about.

"You know, games to win prizes like stuffed animals, or uh, necklaces-" he said, pointing to my crescent moon necklace. I looked down and noticed I still had it on. Something about this necklace gave me some type of nostalgia but I don't know why... "Here y'all go! Strawberry and blueberry flavored cotton candies!" He said as he handed them to us I grabbed and smiled as a way to say thank you and jaxx took out his wallet to pay him and we walked away. We found an empty bench for us to sit on and we stayed there for a while until Jaxx brought something up.

"I didn't know you still had that necklace" he said looking at me and then the necklace "oh, uhm yeah. I don't remember how I got it though-" I said and he looked straight at me confused "you do remember?" He asked as he started to smile "what do you mean?" I said curiously "I gave you that necklace back in middle school when we went on a field trip to the mountains," he stated, my eyes widened "you did?" I asked "yeah, I actually even made it. I made it out of a stone I found pretty, it was round, smooth and shiny. The color is plain but I found it pretty!" He smiled, 'you find everything you see pretty, you see perfection is everything... Do you see it in me?' I thought as I held the stone carved crescent moon necklace, I smiled "you did pretty good.." I said he smiled but then inspected me "is something wrong?" He asked looking at me with concern written on his face "yeah, I'm fine. It's just I wish I could remember the time you gave it to me.. I barely remember my childhood in general." I said as I covered my face with the cotton candy.

He sat closer to me and took my cotton candy out of my hand to look at me.

He looked sad yet worried at the same time, he held my shoulder "I don't know what is wrong with you but I hope you recover... I don't want you to force a smile when things aren't going well." He paused, "today is a day to have fun, so make the most of it!" He said as he gave me my cotton candy back.

We then stood up from where we were sitting and walked around and played games to win prizes. I won a stuffed animal and he won a plastic crown which he placed on my head. We had a great time and I felt like I was growing closer to him. I felt like I needed to.... Ask him out.

"Hey, you look good with that crown on!" He laughed, I smiled as I held the stuffed bear in my arms. "Jaxx.." I started to say "yeah?" He asked, paying full attention to me, "I've been wanting to tell you this, for quite a while now.." I added now looking him in the eyes "what is it?" He said looking at me confused. "Jaxx, I think I li-" I was interrupted by a girl screaming Jaxx's name "Jaxxxxx!" After she yelled his name she yelled mine and I knew It was Alex 'I guess it's not the right time..' I thought to myself and sighed. I saw Alex wave her hand in the air as a sign to come over to her.

As we walked toward her we saw the rest of the group with her and a new guy...
