Chapter 3
Apala
Apala gasped, ears going down and tail going up defensively. Ember faltered, she spat up blood and hit the ground guard. "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?! I CAN HANDLE MYSELF!" He yelled worriedly. "I couldn't... gurgle... watch you die, my body... moved on its own." Ember shivered and her eyes started to go dark with glazed over death. "NO!!!!" He shoved Ember out of the way standing up to the Wyvern. The black Wyvern stepped forward and his dark purple forked tongue slipped through his lips with a hiss. "You can't do anything to save her." "No but I can take revenge for her and my tribe, you monster!" He yelled as he launched quills at the wyvern. The Wyvern dodged and lunged at Apala. "CROW! I will kill you for this." Frost roared, Apala looked over and saw the white Wyvern look up from Ember's dead body. Frost's entire body was suddenly covered in ice and frost and white butterflies fluttered around him. One of the white butterflies moved quickly and exploded into ice shards on the Wyvern's face. Crow screamed in pain and Frost grabbed Ember, nestled her body onto his back, and led Apala away at high speeds. Apala raced through the castle, ears back scared. They ran into a room where the dragons and wyverns they wanted to see, Fawn, Whisp, Chant, Ciala, and a purple dragon Apala didn't know were. "We need to go now!" Apala yelled. And ran over and scooped Fawn up onto his back. The entire room went dead silent as they saw Frost run in with Ember's dead body on his back. Whisp stepped forward, her eyes set on Ember, tears dripping down. "We must stay in here, someone grab-" "No! We need to go!" Apala yelled. "Or I should go and keep everyone safe, he's after me after all." The purple dragon stepped forward. "He's after all of us, we need to get Ember back first, does anyone have chalk?" Frost stepped forward and put Ember down. He began to shuffle through the bags connected to Ember's waist. Apala's head tilted confusedly as he watched. "Lilac, get the salt, here, when I tell you to draw a circle with this around Ember's body." Frost handed Apala the chalk, The purple dragon stepped forward and handed a large bag of salt to Frost. Apala began to draw a circle around Ember's body, confused. Frost made a large circle of salt and they all huddled into it. Frost went to instruct Apala on what to do when he saw Apala about to finish the circle. "NO!" Apala finished the circle and looked down at the looming portal of darkness, it sucked Ember up and then Apala began to get sucked up as well. Frost reached for him but he was already gone. He yelped as he tried flapping his oversized wings, he was sucked into darkness. He lashed around as his vision flashes black.

Apala opened his eyes, he is on a small floating island in an abyss of blackness. He turned his head to see many other floating islands, some with water and waterfalls. He swiveled his head and was astonished. A huge tree had its roots tangled over the biggest gem he'd ever seen. He watched it as his tail lashed back and forth. Then suddenly his eyes caught on the small green figure of Ember flying towards the large tree from an Island somewhere near his. Apala gasped and launched into the air towards her. Ember was moving fast, her large wings propelling her forward. Apala did a barrel roll to go faster, "Ember!" He yelled. Ember looked startled and her wings faltered, she began to fall into the vast void spinning rapidly. Apala raced downwards catching her in his talons. He beat his wings hard and flew her up to another one of the small floating islands. Ember rolled away from him and stared at him, her four eyes wide and glowing in the dim light. Apala realized that Ember's smaller bottom eyes were red and her left top I was blue. The right top eye was an extremely harsh glowing gold. Her two right eyes had a large scar across them, it looked horrible. Had she died before? "Hey, where are we?" He questioned as he greeted her. "Uhh... how did you get here... you do know that you are dead currently to be here. You're in the rift, that large tree right there is... hard to explain." Ember sat down and blushed hard. "You're not supposed to be here and this is just so weird. I've never been dead with someone." She looked really confused and embarrassed. "That... that means..." Apala scratched his head with a talon. "I, uhh, fell through a portal." Ember looked up, "That means... sorry!" She stood up and socked Apala hard in the stomach. Apala wretched and fell.

Frost paced around where the portal should have been. "They both are dead, we are in danger, what are we going to do!?" Fawn was freaking out, staring at where the portal was. Chant held her as she freaked the hell out, trying to comfort her. Suddenly, a dark amount of portal appeared again and everyone froze. Frost looked hopeful. A sudden dark figure loomed out with a sharp grin and four sets of deep purple eyes
