Her pov:

Today was indeed a bad day. How dare Samira jump on Rey like that? I mean she should respect his personal space also why did Reyansh drag her into the cabin? Oh my god...were they dating? I hope not. Samira is the worst person ever. She was a bully, a narcissist and a control freak.

Reyansh has a weird choice in women. Like?? How?

Before my train of thoughts could lead me to a worse conclusion, I opened my apartment door with the spare keys mom had given me.

"Aa gayi madam?"

(You're here madam?)

Said my mother. Sarah arora. A lawyer and environment conservationist. A woman with a mind of her own. Headstrong and ever loving. I quickly hugged her.

"Hi ma."

"Bad day at the office?"

"How did you know?"

"Teri ma hun, tujhe dekhte hi pata chal jaata hai ki tere Mann mein konse vichaar ke ghode dod rahe hai!" She caressed my hair

(I am your mother..I can sense the thoughts running inside your head just by your facial expressions.)

"Hmm..mom you remember reyansh?"

"Reyansh wahi na jiske piche tu pagal thi?"

(Oh the one you were mad after?)

"Oh God mumma!" I said and hid my face in the crook of her neck.

"Uska kya?"

(What about him?)

"So, he is the chief in the department and Samira came to meet him. They seem to be having a thing and I feel a little jealous. Do you think my feelings at the moment are wrong?"

She gently held my hand and made me sit on the sofa.

"Feelings are never wrong or right, feelings are just feelings. We are fundamentally human beings, everything we see or hear tends to erupt a reaction within us. It is how you act upon your feelings that makes a difference. You might have liked him since college but those times were different. Express what you feel. Slowly and gently. Also, accept whatever he feels regardless of his reciprocation for yours. Do not rush into stuff. Sometimes you need to be a little out of order to get in order."

Saying that she got up and went to the kitchen to get me some food. I retired to my room with a better mood. I was no longer angry or disappointed. I was just human.

Dinner was a happy event with both of us laughing and talking about our respective days. After helping her with the house chores, I laid on my bed in hopes of getting a good sleep. My masterplan was interrupted by a call.

"Hello"

"Aarohi, it's me reyansh. We need your help. Reach the crime branch as soon as possible."

"On it!"

If reyansh had called me at this hour, it had to be something extremely serious. I wore a pair of baggy jeans and an oversized t-shirt. Bidding my mum goodbye, i headed towards the door.
Although a part of me was hoping it wasn't too serious.

Reaching the designated place, i took the elevator up to the 5th floor. As soon as the doors slid open, I saw reyansh along with the chief minister and other reputed officers surrounding a table. It was at that moment, i knew, it was something more than just serious. It was an emergency.
