Unconditional Love

Chapter 6

October 8th

After 2 long weeks of being on their honeymoon in Hawaii, Jenna & Val had flew back home to LA. Jenna found back the love and comfort she used to have with Val before she found out she was pregnant after about the first week. She had been careful towards everything she'd done with him there, making sure he wouldn't get in any way suspicious. Jenna had planned to rest that whole day. She had been tired due to a whole day of traveling back. It wasn't until just around the evening that they had to leave the house

"Where are we going?" Jenna asked, rubbing her eyes that were barely open

"Maks and Meryl had invited us for dinner at their place" he said while doing his hair

"Alright"

She really didn't want to leave her bed but it would have to be an exception for Meryl. After all, she was there for her the whole time.
When Val and Jenna arrived at Maks's house, it was no doubt that they weren't the only ones invited. About a dozen people welcomed them back home the moment they got in the house. Val & Maks's parents, Nicole and her husband, Teddy, Alex, Sharna, Peta, Tony and his wife, and of course Meryl & Maks. Everyone was hanging around the house since dinner wasn't yet ready and Jenna excused herself to the bathroom. She looked for Meryl the minute she came out of the bathroom and took her to a corner of the room, eyes wide open

"What?" Meryl asked, worried

"I'm showing" Jenna said, glaring at her

Meryl bit her lip while trying to come up with something

"I guess you'll just have to tell them" she said, shrugging her shoulder

"You're kidding right?! Telling Val I cheated on him and that I'm pregnant with the mans child would be bad enough, telling his whole family would be 100x worse"

"No I don't mean that, I mean you should just tell them you're pregnant. The thought of you cheating on Val wouldn't even pop into their minds"

"So you're saying I should lie to everyone?"

"It's not lying. You're just not telling them the entire story.. I'll be right next to you the whole time J"

"Fine, but I do have one question; why are we all here tonight?"

"Um, for your welcome back party?"

"And?"

"Our last dinner get together for two weeks.."

"Last? Why?"

Meryl sighed "Maks and I are going to Hawaii for two weeks"

"Oh.. That's.. Nice" Jenna said quietly, trying to smile

"Sorry J, I tried to convince him to stay but you know Maks, you just can't debate with him. I told Sharna and she'll be there for you whenever you need help"

"Okay"

Right then, Maks walked in between them

"Maks..You didn't hear our conversation did you?" Meryl asked

"No, I was helping ma. Why? Is there something I missed?"

Meryl and Jenna both sighed in relief
"We were just wondering.."

"Right, well dinners ready" Maks said, turning around and walking to the dining room, Meryl & Jenna following not long after

As everyone sat down at the table, Meryl and Maks thanked everyone for coming. Jenna didn't hear a word, her head was just spinning all around. After a few seconds she felt a gentle rub on her arm. Meryl. Right. She shut her eyes and lips for a second and then back at Meryl. Meryl nodded at her as a sign that she should say it now.

"Um before we start dinner I'd like to make a small announcement.." Jenna said, trembling. Val raised his eyebrows, not remembering anything about Jenna telling him anything. She looked back at Meryl, still unsure if she should do this. Meryl gave her smile in response.

"Well.. I can assure you that Val is going to be the best father.. And I can also assure you that he will become a father very soon.." Everyone's jaws dropped. They were all speechless. "Jenna, are you?" Val asked, tears in his eyes. She nodded.
Everyone got out of their seats and hugged Jenna and Val, congratulating them both. Val froze, one of hands covering his eyes. Jenna rubbed his back "Val? Are you okay?" He slowly put his hands down and shook his head "Jenna Michelle Johnson, I love you so much. You're gonna be an amazing mother" he came closer to her and hugged her, crying onto her hair.

"You knew didn't you?" Maks asked Meryl, smiling at the overwhelmed couple

"A girl has gotta keep her secret, buddy" she said, smirking at him

"Well we'll just have to see about that" he said, smirking back at her

oh my god guys i'm so sorry i haven't updated in almost a month. i've been extremely busy with school especially with exams. school ends next week so i'll be sure to update more often then.. ily all - steph
