Hannah collected the last tip of the day and breathed out in exhaustion. The day might have been a Friday but it felt like a Monday to her and honestly, all she wanted was to get home and relax.
"Who tips more than a thousand bucks" she wondered outloud to herself, looking at the bundle of cash she had previously collected from her first customer of the day.
"Umm..Ms Edmond" she called, taking off her upron then handing Ms Edmond the total gross worth tip of the day.

"Oh my...this is way more than yesterday..." Ms Edmond commented, happily taking the tip jar.
"Well you can thank the first customer for that.. Ms Edmond " she said heading towards the exit door.
"So tomorrow" asked the old woman.
"So it's tomorrow Ms Edmond " Hannah responded, hanging her apron on the hanger that stood besides the exit.
"Good night Ms Edmond" she added and opened the door, getting out of the building.
Hannah stepped on the streets of queens new York once again and before she could proceed to the next block, her phone started to buzz  just like it always did before she got home.
"That's odd" she thought to herself when it wouldn't stop. She was not expecting a call from anyone. Usually her pool of associates went upto her father, Ms Edmond and the woman that takes up from her during the night shift .Hannah got it out of her pocket.
"Dad?" Hannah read the contact name that was calling.
"Hey, daddy..am I late for dinner?" She asked immediately after picking up the call.
"No muffin...I'm the one that's Gonna be late , I have to take care of something at work." He announced.
"Umm ok...I'll just wait up for you cause tomorrow is my birthday" she suggested with a 'b Simone tone ' at the end of her sentence.
"Kk No muffin Cake.." Mr Mussette chuckled lightly.
"something's come up " he added.
Hannah's smile faded . Her dad had never done this before.
" Oh" she heard herself say outloud. Clearly she felt disappointed but did not want to show it.
"I'm really sorry sweetheart, ..but it's very important that you listen to me and do as I say" his voice lowered itself in the last sentence.
"Daddy..kk what's wrong.. you're freaking me out" she chuckled nervously.
"Don't worry muffin..just go straight home ,get in the house and lock the door behind you" Mr Mussette told her , still breathing under his tone.
" But dad.." she started but he cut her off.
"Now Hannah" he pressed on.
" No" she said, as though out of instinct.
"What" he arched.
"No dad...you sound really off..I'm coming to over were you work" Hannah added on.
She heard her father sigh deeply. This was the part where he'd give a whole speech on how her mother

was just as  stubborn as she is.
"You're going home, you're locking the doors and you're staying put were I can find you ...and that's final." He said, without pressing on then cut the call.
Hannah gave herself some time to reflect on what had just happened. There was no way she was doing what her dad had instructed. She trusted her own gut way too much to do such a thing and right now her gut was telling her something was wrong.
Swiftly ,without thinking, she made a u turn ,heading into the streets that led to the traffic jams. Hannah had no money for a taxi so she just walked until she found herself running at the thought of what could have been happening to her poor old  Dad . Even without proof, Hannah pressed on, something was wrong. She ran for minutes and rested for seconds before getting up and running again.
"Excuse me...is this the way to Tristan  everest" she asked a stranger by a station. Even after all these years ,there still where places she had never been to in the city.
The stranger gave her a nod and pointed at a big building right Infront of her.

"Thank you" she said to him and ran up the stair case that led into the building   bigger than the apartment building she lived in

"Daddy...daddy.. " she screamed, heading to the reception.
"Yes ma'am may I help you" the receptionist asked politely. Hannah breathed in and out , finally holding her chest.
"Yes please..mmmmma..mmma my dad..he called and...oh my God" she panicked , trying to catch her breath.
"Ma'am please calm down..what is your father's name" the lady asked.
"Benjamin Mussette " Hannah managed to let out and the receptionist gave her a look that was definitely not what she had expected. She looked scared which inturn made Hannah scared.
"One moment ma'am.." she said, dailing a number.
"Yes... someone's here to see Mr Mussette...yes..she says she is his daughter..ok" she finished, talking to who ever had picked up her call.
"Alright ma'am...if you could just calm down..some men will come see you so they could take you to your father" the receptionist said ,this time looking at Hannah.
" Thank you...thank you so much" Hannah said.
She then sat on the seat outside the reception section and took a sip of the

liquid that might have been liquor or something. She wasn't sure. But Hannah was tired, hungry and thirsty and all she needed was that cold drink.
As she severed the test of the wired drink, Hannah started to feel herself dose off until everything went dark.
