Chapter 3 - Bloody Knuckles

The two saw Julia comforting her, Nova on her knees in hysterics with a box. Sonic asked, "What's going on?"

Rika asked in an upset tone, "Did someone use that dead rat trick again?" Julia replied, "No it's more than that."

Nova replied, "They're gone! Glenn and Glenda!" Sonic asked simply in confusion, "Who?" Rika replied, "I know those names. Those are the names of Chuckys kids though as a doll they were one in the same doll even though the doll looked like a 6 year old boy. Though the doll 'who was named Shitface at the start of the movie' was raised by some British asshole excuse of a puppeteer that has no experience with ventriloquist lessons."

Sonic replied flatly, "oh yeah, you had me watch that movie one time. It was fucked up & I was only interested in the 2 facts that 1 no one notice it was alive and how no one called the muppets social services and 2 the fact that the boy side is not as cruel and cold blooded as his own father."

Julia chuckled before she said in a little upset tone, "That's kinda true but yeah. Nova said she was gonna give me these two kittens she named after them but they're gone."

Rika replied, "They probably wondered off while they were still in the box, we'll help you look for it, right Sonic?" The blue hedgehog was in a trance 'seeing something scary'. Nova and Julia looked at him as Noca asked, "Is he okay?" Rika shrugs as she begins shaking Sonic.

The cobalt hedgehog was having visions of a ancient building collapsing into the island where he was born on.

He hears people screaming as he hears battle cries of an army of echidnas in armor he didn't recognize attacking. He shivered in shock as he sees a couple running.

That's when he heard Rika's voice shouted, "HEY SONIC ARE YOU FUCKING DEAD OR ALIVE!?" That snapped Sonic out of his trance as he gasped and said, "Huh?! What?!"

He sighed as Julia then asked, "Uhh Sonic, Are you okay? You look like you seen a ghost." Sonic replied, "I'm fine, just feeling a little pressure is all." Rika asked 'knowing what that means', "You saw the visions again, didn't you?" Sonic sighed and nodded.

Nova then said, "But we better hurry, The Ghostface concert starts any minute now." Then Rika said, "Okay then, let's split up and find the kittens."

The group nodded and ran around the carnival. The girls had to push through crowds and the two hedgehogs kept looking in every knook and cranny of the festival.

That is until they reached the woods. They heard two kittens meowing as Julia and Nova followed. Sonic asked, "Did you hear that?"

The kitten meows were heard again Nova said, "Thats them."

That's when they saw the kitten coming to them while meowing.

Rika said with a smile as they were relieved, "Thank God they're okay."

That's when Rika shines a flashlight on her phone and the group gasped in fright and shock.

The kittens were both covered in blood. Nova had a little panic attack and said, "Oh my God are they okay?"

Sonic rushes to them before he kneeled down and looked at the female kitten.

Sonic had a confused look on his face and said, "Nova. They're okay."

Julia asked, "Yo dude. Are you blind? They're covered in blood."

Sonic answered, "No they're literally fine." Rika then looks at the boy kitten and said with surprise, "He's right. They're okay."

Julia asked, "Are you sure?" Rika answered, "As Goosebumps story: the ghost next door I am."

Nova and Julia sees they were right as Nova said, "They are okay but..."

That's when Sonic said while looking at Glenda, "They're covered in blood. But there's not a scratch on them."

Sonic then said with a raised brow, "Unless..." he then ask Rika if she can shine her flashlight over by the left where they came from.

Sure enough she did. It was a trail of blood. Rika then said, "Dude I don't think that's paint." Sonic replied, "It's a trail of blood alright. Maybe someone is hurt or something."

Rika turns to Julia and said, "Jewel me and Sonic will follow the trail of blood. We'll be back shortly."

Julia replied to her, "Be careful guys." Nova then said as she held the kittens, "Don't do anything we wouldn't do. Though I wish to see the damage from Chicago."

She giggled as Sonic and Rika followed the trail of blood.

Deep within the woods they kept flashing the blood trail before they see the end of the trail.

Rika said in confusion, "What the fuck? The blood trail stops here. But there's nobody around."

Sonic then felt something sticky on his head. He felt it and to his horror. It was blood. He then said, "M-maybe not on the ground."

He heard a rope hanging before he and Rika slowly looked up and gasped.

To their horror. It was Knuckles covered in his own blood, scratch marks, slashes, and bruises. Around his neck was a noose.

Sonic screamed in hysterics, "OH MY GOD! KNUCKLEHEAD!!"

That's when he saw Knuckles move. Rika shouted, "WAIT HE'S ALIVE!"

Knuckles was choking due to the noose on his neck as he tried to get it off of him.

Sonic then said, "Hold on Knux. I'll cut you down." He then speeds up the tree and to where Knuckles is, 'with the knife in his hand' Sonic cuts the rope between the branch it was tied to and Knuckles.

Sure enough it worked. Knuckles landed on the ground as Sonic landed on his feet.

Sonic looks around and asked, "Hey Ri. Where are ya?" Rika's voice answered, "I'm right here."

He sees Rika underneath her was Knuckles unconscious.

Sonic flipped him off of her as Rika sat up. Sonic jokingly said, "Least you cushioned his fall toots."

He chuckled as Rika smiled a little and said, "It isn't funny. We better get your pal there to the hospital."

He then said, "We better take him to the Indian Village. Grey-Sky could heal him. Luckily it's not too far from here."

Rika asked, "But what about the scream concert?" Sonic picks up his unconscious friend, place him on his back and said, "We'll worry about that as soon as we get Knuckles to Grey-Sky."

That's when Sonic and Rika speed to the Indian Village. Not knowing what they got themselves into.

It was just the beginning for Sonic to figure out who he really is.
