Yi Hwa's POV:
The big gates in front of us opened slowly but surely. The face on Cheongmyeong's face looked so happy that it was infectious. HURK- BLEURGHHH. Shit. Well, it's no surprise that he just coughed out another liter of blood from his mouth. I warned him to not use his innate qi... I sighed. "C'mon big guy, let's go see what's inside." We both stood up.
"Right, let's go see what brother Jangmun's been hiding?" He pushed the door open which revealed... just three bookcases. Seriously? That's it? I thought it was going to be some huge chamber of secrets or something... But still.. THIS IS EPIC!! I looked at all the books and scrolls on the shelves. All the information..! I looked at Cheongmyeong while pulling out a book from the shelf. "He was always complaining about our finances... so this is where all the money went." I looked down at the book in my hands. Well.. just a few techniques- "THIS IS IT!!" Myeong screamed. What is? I walked closer and took the book from his hands. "THE SECT LEDGERS!??" I finished. He looked at me incredulously.
"He made copies of the originals that were kept at the finance office! You beautiful neat freak! This is perfect!" I flipped through the pages making sure I wasn't imagining right now.
"Damn, the sect leader sure was a perfectionist.. Not that I'm complaining!" I closed the book. "Now those damn merchants are finished!" I handed the book back just to see him stuffing a whole shelf worth of books into his clothes. "Is this really going to fit..?" I said glaring at him."Of course! Start stuffing yours too Hwa!!" He said putting a bunch of books into my clothes too.
"HEY! WHAT ARE YOU- AAK-" The books fell right out loosening my clothes too. I flushed with embarrassment. "WHAT DID YOU DO THAT FOR?!?!" I smacked him with a book while covering my chest with the other hand. At least it didn't all come off...
"OW OW OWW!! I-I'm sorry alright?! Stop hitting me!!!!!" He complained while I kept hitting me. "I didn't see anything alright?! Geez!!!" I stopped.
"Are you sure?" I questioned him while tying my clothes back up.
"Y-yes.." He said, rubbing his head. I sighed for the hundredth time.
"You seriously have to learn some respect. At least I had bandages on.. Sigh." He looked up.
"Well, we still have to take the books someway right?"
"SIGH. I guess you're right. But let me stuff books myself, geez."
"Right.." I started stuffing until we were just two very pinchy people with book corners poking out.
"Argh, I can't move well like this, and the corners poking into me aren't helping!!" I muttered to myself shifting the position of the books.
"Hey, come look at this." Cheongmyeong said, opening a scroll. I trudged towards him in discomfort.
If anyone is reading this, it means that the next sect leader has been chosen. Sometimes a line of prose conveys more than a hundred spoken words ever could..so I hereby leave my thoughts in writing. Despite the title, the sect leader does not dictate the direction of Mount Hua's future. My dear successor, though you are no doubt already aware of this as the next sect leader..the future of Mount Hua is led by its disciples, its youngsters who grow and blossom day by day. The sect leader's role is merely to protect and encourage them so that they can pave their own path forward. Now that you are the sect leader, I implore you to abandon the burdensome idea that you must lead Mount Hua's future. Mount Hua is Mount Hua. No more, no less. It is a force and a spirit that can neither be led nor wielded. Whether its fortune wanes or flourishes, Mount Hua will always be simply Mount Hua. So that the will of Mount Hua can be passed down from our predecessors to future generations..and remain unchanged for millennia, I hope that you will raise our disciples and carry on our duty. And as your predecessor and a former sect leader, I bestow upon you a heavy burden. The 21st leader of the Great Mount Hua sect, Jangmun.
