Hwa Yi's POV: (*Cheongmyeong has already started the training with the others)
I continued to mentally complain about how tough the climb was. It used to be so easy that I didn't make any necessary preparations such as tying my hair up or wearing short sleeves!! Gosh I'm such an idiot sometimes. Myeong would usually give me his hair tie cause he knew I would always forget. SIGHHHHHH. One thing stood out to me as soon as I reached the top. The signboard for the sect was gone... I don't even want to remember the times when Cheongmyeong would complain to me how meticulous the sect leader was, polishing it every morning. I trudged up to the gates and knocked. Not long after, a man showed up in front of me. He wore the Mount Hua clothing meaning the sect wasn't completely extinct.
"Please, enter! It's too late in the evening to descend the mountain and the nights here are quite cold."
"Thanks..?" I said and I followed him inside. Honestly as I looked around, I wasn't surprised by the missing traits such as the marble flooring or the heavenly golden palace. They needed the funds after the war and the invasion too...
"WHAAAAT?!?!? WHERE DID YOU GUYS PUT THE WHITE PLUM BLOSSOM OF NOCTURNAL FRAGRANCE!?" I screamed shockingly. One of the two sacred artefacts of Mount Hua is gone?!?!
"Oh, the branch of plum blossoms made of a strange white metal? We sold it."
I blinked once. No, twice. They sold it?!?!
"Oh, kill me now." I said while I flopped on the floor on my back.
His thinking: What's the big deal with this flower anyway? This girl and Cheongmyeong had a strong reaction to it being gone.
"Hey, you alright?"
"No..." I whispered with a completely miserable face. "WAIT!" I screamed as he was going to leave. "Please allow me to meet the Sect Leader! I wish to become a disciple!"
And so with that, he took me to meet him. He allowed me to enter the sect because of my eagerness or whatever that means. I guess they really are desperate.. Oh well. Not that I'm complaining hehe!
I got changed into my new clothes (aka the uniform for third-grade disciples sadly) and left my room.
"Oh, you must be the new initiate at white blossom hall! Nice to meet you..."
"Yi Hwa, pleasure to meet you Great Brother!"
"I'll give you some time to get acquainted with your comrades." He said and left.
Oh well, might as well find them. I turned around to see a weird brown haired boy staring at me.
"Um, hello?" I said awkwardly as I had no idea what to do in situations like this. You see, I'm not really the type of person to start conversations (unless it's with people I feel comfortable with!).
"O-oh! Sorry, I was entranced by your beauty- I MEAN- nice to meet you, my name is Jo Geol.."
"Nice to meet you too Geol! I'm Yi Hwa, nice to meet you-"
"OI! WHAT ARE YOU DOING GEOL?! GET BACK TO TRAINING!" Screamed a voice in the distance. What a menacing aura...
Just as I turned around, Geol sprinted like running away from a spider (well, I am absolutely terrified of them so that's a good simile right?) while screaming "I'M SORRY, SIR!"
The boy I saw before me wasn't that much older than me. Honestly, he kinda resembles Myeong from when he was small.
"You must be the new initiate right?"
"Yeah?"
"I won't go easy on you just cause you're a girl."
"Huh?-" He quickly sprinted at me, getting ready for a punch. Honestly, he's pretty slow, I'm surprised at why the others are so scared of him. I easily dodged him as he went for a low kick towards my knees. Unlike this brat, I didn't want to beat the absolute soul out of him so I just dodged it quickly and aimed for an uppercut. My main specialty in martial arts is my speed but I just got slower since I'm just an 8 year old child. Sadly. He looked surprised for a second which let me land a blow to his chin. He stood back up with an extremely angry look on him. Oh well, what can I do? He's the one who picked the fight to begin with.
"How are you so fast?"
Surprised at his question, I just said what came to mind: "Cause I practised for 20 years on my speed-" Oh damn. I shouldn't have said that. OH GOD KILL ME NOW. I messed up real bad.
"20 years?-"
"I MEAN 2 YEARS! THAT WAS AN ACCIDENT I SWEAR!"
"Alright... you know, I was going to beat you up to toughen it up but I guess that works. What's your name?" He asked with this bored look like the uppercut I gave him didn't do anything to him.
"Yi Hwa. May I ask, why did you want to beat me up?"
"YI HWA?!?!?! Ehem. I mean, nice to meet you, I'm Cheongmyeong" What's up with that reaction? Wait...
"CHEONGMYEONG?!?!?! I MEAN NICE TO MEET YOU!" I hurriedly covered my mouth with my hands and looked away in embarrassment. Worst day ever I swear.
"Do you know me?"
"NO!" I said too quickly. Great, now he's suspicious of me.
"Okay... Well, you should get to training. I expect you to wake up early every morning with your brothers for training. Alright?"
"Alright..." Wait, why did I agree to that? As I was about to refuse, he had already left. Great. Now I actually have to do it. Not like I wasn't going to, but it just kinda annoying when he says it first.
Cheongmyeong's POV:
Yi Hwa... They looked alike too. Not many people have orange eyes. Could it be?- No. But... she was really fast too. And she looked like she knew me and she said 20 years means that she had lived longer than 20 years or maybe I'm overthinking things am I overthinking things but what if it is her then-
"You alright Cheongmyeong? I've been calling you for like 2 minutes straight now said Geol.
"Didn't I say to get back to training?" I said with evil intent.
"Yes but..."
"NO BUTS GET BACK TO TRAINING!" I screamed at him. For some reason, her voice makes me less angry and makes me want to impress her- wait. What am I doing? She's just a new initiative. My goal here is to bring Mount Hua back to its glory days! In fact, I'm going to make it even better than before!
