I took my phone out of my back pocket and opened it, to see it was from Simon.

Simon I had fun last weekend, it was great to get to know more about you.
Emily Me to who would've thought "Hey let's get coffee" would turn into a weekend away for fun😂

Simon no problem maybe we can hangout again?
Emily not out of town right??
Simon No ha in town, I promise.

"Hey Em come on" Talia said snapping me out of my thoughts "we need to hurry if we wanna make it on time" Talia shouted as I made my way walking out the front door

"sorry I couldn't find my phone" I said as I hopped into the car and Freya started driving. During the drive all I could do is stare at my phone looking at Simon's messages. I know how he hurt Talia and how everyone see's him but with me, he is just a totally different person. I looked over to Talia looking at me.

"what" I ask confused

"nothing just you haven't seemed like you in the last couple days" Talia stated and I was just confused by what she said, I mean how could I not seem like myself, I questioned in my head.

"um Okay" is all I could get out and Talia didn't say anything else which was just weird. We arrived at dinner where we were meeting the Sidemen and a couple of their friends. We walked in and there was everyone sitting, and engaging in their own conversations, when Simon noticed me and waved me over. That's when I noticed as I turned to my side Talia was already sitting by Freya and there was no where for me to sit, so I head towards Simon and sat next to him.

Half way through dinner I kept noticing Talia glancing over at me, not saying anything but from the way she was looking, she looked angry or disappointed or both. "I have to use the restroom" I said standing up glancing at Talia and walking away. I was hoping Talia caught the signal and followed me and as I looked back there she was standing in front of me with her arms crossed.  "what is wrong with you" I asked hoping she would just tell me.

"nothing Emily" Talia said a little harshly so I knew something was up.

"come on T, I know you better than anyone you can tell me" I said crossing my arms. I just don't understand what's bothering her, she's acting like I betrayed her or something.

"I saw your phone in the car,... Okay I saw the messages" Talia shouted and I just stood there with my mouth wide open realizing she knows. "why.. why lie to me Em" Talia asked and I just didn't know what to say 

"I'm sorry I mean we're just hanging out it's nothing serious, we're just friends" I stated holding back the thoughts in my head telling me he's not just a friend.

"the way you were texting each other and how you were smiling at them, I don't think so" Talia said beginning to turn around and walk away.

"Talia I promise" I shouted as she stopped in her tracks.

"Em I don't care if you like him, it just he's gonna hurt you" Talia said softly, turning around to face me. I could see tears building up in her eyes so I wrapped my arms around her and hugged her close.

"I promise T, I will be careful I told you that already" I said and we just pulled away just staring at each other. Just then we both broke out into laughter for no reason, god I missed just laughing with my best friend, wouldn't be where I am without her. We both walked back to the table and took our seats and enjoyed the rest of the night.
