Emily took a deep breath as she tapped on the 'Post' button with trembling fingers. She had done it. She had made "friendship" with Simon public on Instagram. Instantly, the notifications flooded in, but not all of them were filled with hearts and well wishes. Instead, her feed was plagued with hateful comments and remarks.
"God, look at these comments," Emily muttered, her eyes scanning the screen. "They're tearing me apart."
Talia, her ever-loyal best friend, sat beside her on the bed, offering a comforting smile. "Remember, Em, it's just social media. People hide behind screens to say things they'd never dare to say face to face. You can't let them get to you."
"But it's so hard, Tal," Emily whispered, her voice trembling. "They're saying he can do so much better, that I'm not worth his time." Emily continued, her voice still trembling. "they think I'm a horrible person for "betraying you" Talia" I sobbed, letting the tears out.
Talia's hand gently squeezed Emily's. "You know what matters? What's in front of us. Simon, he's chosen you, plus I told you I was over it. Em He sees something incredible in you. Don't let the thoughts of faceless keyboard warriors diminish that."
Meanwhile, at the boys' house, Simon found solace in the company of his friends – JJ, Josh, and Ethan. They sat in the living room, sipping on beverages, discussing their own love lives.
"I've never felt this way before," Simon admitted, his voice tinged with vulnerability. "Emily, she's... extraordinary. And yet, I can't help but wonder if all the hate we're getting is worth it."
JJ chuckled, patting Simon on the back. "Mate, every great love story has its obstacles. Social media is just another hurdle to overcome. If she makes you happy, then that's all that matters."
Back in her bedroom, Emily laid back on her bed, staring up at the ceiling, lost in her thoughts. Was this worth it? The constant scrutiny, the whispered doubts. The fear crept into her heart, but then she remembered the way Simon looked at her, as if she was the only one who mattered.
Simon, on the other hand, scrolled through the comments, feeling a mix of frustration and determination. He rested his phone on his chest, gazing out of the window, lost in contemplation. Perhaps the hate would never fade entirely, but if he had to choose between a life without Emily and a life with Emily he couldn't. Simon was torn but he knew for sure he loved being around her and would doing anything for her to be his.

Emily's legs moved in perfect rhythm to the beat of the music as she practiced her dance moves in the privacy of her room. Sweating and breathless, she was lost in the world of her passion until a soft knock on her door startled her.
Glancing toward the interruption, Emily's eyes widened at the sight of Simon, standing tall and handsome in the doorway. Turmoil filled her chest, a mix of excitement and heartache. It had been a week since they last spoke, and the weight of their unspoken feelings hung in the air between them.
