Madison Snow
This party was insane, I don't usually attend them because something bad always happens or someone has too much alcohol and it goes wrong. There's always a guy who drinks too much or your friend disappears and you think she's been kidnapped but really she's outside smoking a joint somewhere. They're wild.
Jake used to throw all of these parties so I used to hear everything about them.
I met with Arielle and Lukas beforehand and we had a few pre-drinks, by we I mean them because I don't drink like ever. I learnt that lesson from my dad.
Us three were all stood in the kitchen slightly away from everyone, I sat down on the corner counter while Arielle and Lukas were talking about how many shots they were going to have later. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if they were both alcoholics.
Arielle kept her head down and away from the boys seeing as she was whipped for Omari, she had never been like this for anyone. It was like her entire world revolved around him and I couldn't help but be jealous. I wanted what they had. That's all I have ever wanted.
Around 30 minutes later Omari walked in with his two cheerleaders by his side and I couldn't look away from her.
She was wearing a tight black skirt with a dark grey bodysuit that cut out above her boobs and her fingers were littered with gold rings that made her hands look veinier than usual. Her black heels wrapped up her legs until they reached her knees and her nails had French tips on. She looked unreal. So unreal that I thought I might have been dreaming it.
However, it was all ruined the second she stood next to me and leaned backwards on the counter, opening her mouth.
"I know you want to kiss me but close your mouth."
I rolled my eyes immediately and she smirked a little bit.
"My bad darling, I was preparing myself to throw up at the sight of you."
Her smirk dropped and she stood back up straight, grabbing a drink while the boys were speaking.
If I didn't know better, I'd say it hurt her feelings. But she doesn't have them.
Lukas came and grabbed me by my thighs in a joking way and carried me to the dance floor in the living room while I was laughing because it tickled.
He let me down and I smiled, "thought I'd take you away from the devil,"
I looked back and saw her staring daggers at Lukas so I let my fingers trace up his arm and he shivered.
"Can I be honest?"
"Always," I paused before talking, "I'm not sure I wanted to be taken away."
His eyes opened in shock, "what?! But you hate her? She hates you?"
"I don't think I hate her."
He sighs and shakes his head with a small giggle, "I think you hate how much you want her."
He glanced at her and then back at me, "but politely, you might want to stop tracing my arm because I don't want to be killed by her."
I laughed and let go of him and he was smiling before the jock from earlier today came over.
"Can I steal her for a minute?"
He grabbed my hand and Lukas let him walk off with me, the music was pounding to a point I could barely hear myself think never mind hear what everyone was saying.
He lead me to the garden where a couple people were smoking and playing ping pong, "why are you stealing me away from everyone?"
He looks at the flowers and smirks, "I thought we could talk, you're the closest thing to Jake I have left."
I even flinched at his name. How pathetic is that.
"I don't want to be associated with him-"
He steps closer to me and places his hands on my waist, "relax, I know grief is hard-"
"No-"
He uses one of his hands to tilt my chin up and meet his eyes, "please-"
"Get your hands off."
He sighs, "please love. Let me have you."
He pushes me into the wall and I mustered up all my courage to shout, "get your hands off me!"
I was shaking, who does he think he is? I wasn't scared but I froze in place. I was pissed off.
His grip only became tighter so I pushed him but he didn't budge until a fist collided with his face and his head literally spun as his body smacked off the floor.
"She said hands off asshole." Her voice was filled with anger and she wasn't managing it one bit. I had never seen her filled with fury before but she was protecting me?
I told her I didn't need a protector yet here she is again.
The guy groaned underneath her as he wobbled up onto his legs. "You bitch." I glanced at him and his face was swollen already, she must've hit him with all of her force.
She stepped in his face, "say it again I dare you, I'll gladly give you another black eye to remember me by."
He muttered something before storming off and she couldn't even look at me.
"I could handle that on my own."
"Oh yeah? You did a really good job of that."
Is she being serious right now?
"How many times do I have to tell you-"
"That you don't need help. I know. But you've got it okay? You've got my fucking help because for some god for saken reason I can't seem to take my eyes off you tonight. Or any other night. And it's fucking frustrating watching everyone check you out."
"Why-"
"No let me finish. I let you talk now you let me talk."
I stayed quiet and swallowed. She was authoritative and I shouldn't find this attractive but I do.
"I hate you but just so we're clear, I'll kill anyone who touches what isn't theirs.... and you don't belong to anyone but me."
The sentence made my stomach flutter and for once it wasn't the bad kind of butterflies, suddenly I'm not so sure this tension is one sided.
