"Guys?"
"What did you do now?"
"I pressed it."
"WHAT?!"
"I pressed the button."
"YOU PRESSED THE BUTTON?!"
"IT WAS AN ACCIDENT, OKAY?"
"WHY WOULD YOU PRESS THE BUTTON YOU FUCKING IDIOT?!"
"I DON'T KNOW, WHY WOULD THEY EVEN HAVE A SELF-DESTRUCT BUTTON?!"
"IT DOESN'T MATTER, JUST C'MON!"
We rushed towards the nearest exit, the ceiling falling and debris flying everywhere. Why a building would ever have a self destruct button, I still will never know. The building was collapsing, and the only priority was to stay alive. As we reached the exit, I pushed the door open, racing onto the escape ladder.
"WE WON'T MAKE IT DOWN IN TIME!" One of my friends yelled as part of the wall fell, almost crushing them.
"I know," I said, somehow in a calm tone. I spread my wings and grabbed my friends, ready to jump off the building. "You can't carry three people, we'll just fall to our deaths!" One of the three shouted. I turned to look at them and replied, "Well, then I would be delighted to hear your plan, genius," making my voice sound as annoying as possible.
They sighed as I jumped off the escape ladders, flapping my wings as hard as I could. I felt my friends slipping from my grasp, so I held on to them tighter, desperately trying to get away from the building and back to safety. But, as I turned my head to get one last glance at the building, it was too late for us. The building exploded, knocking my companions and I out of the sky. I tried to flap my wings, but they had been badly damaged. They had been torn and burned, with some feathers on fire. I cried out, the pain being unbearable. We had no hope of surviving. As we plummeted towards our deaths, my team took our last moments to yell at me, making me feel even worse.
What a great way to die.
"YOU DIED"
TRY AGAIN?
>YES
>NO
I stared at the screen in front of me, speechless. My friends continued screaming at me, making me take my headphones off. After a few seconds, I put them back on to hear the complaints of my team.
"WHAT THE HELL, DUDE?"
"WE ALMOST MADE IT OUT!"
"THIS IS WHY YOU DON'T HAVE PARENTS."
The rest of the squad was in a collective silence after that last one.
I leaned in really close to my mic. "Aye, Lemon that's too far man," I whispered, the rest of us agreeing. But the comment he made was quickly forgotten as they all went back to shouting at me.
"I THOUGHT I HAD ENOUGH STAMINA TO MAKE IT!"
"YOU WOULDN'T MAKE IT OUT THAT WAY EVEN WITH FULL STAMINA, DIPSHIT."
"I SO COULD."
"NO YOU COULDN'T!"
"Come on, at least give me an A for effort?"
"More like F for effort."
"THAT'S NOT HOW YOU SPELL IT, DUMBASS."
"I'M DYSLEXIC, YOU BITCH."
Yep, a normal day with the Trash Ga(y)ng™.
Luckily, they finally stopped after 5ish minutes. Usually it would take at least 15.
"Since Cosmic Brownie got us all killed, you have to buy all of us something," Dew stated, clearly showing that a plan was forming in her head. "How about some food? I really want some Cheezits and a Dr. Pepper," Pizza chimed in.
Great, I have to go get food for them again.
After a minute or so of them bugging me to get them stuff, I gave in. "Fiiiiine," I groaned. "But only because I owe you guys for buying me headphones after someone broke them. "Oh come on," Pizza whined. "I said sorry!" "And I still don't forgive you, those headphones cost $40," I replied. "Also don't complain about a broken window when I break into your house to give you your food."
I said a quick goodbye after hearing what they all wanted and grabbed some money to buy them stuff. I wasn't sure if Liam was in the house, but I left a note for him if he realized I wasn't here.
Went to get some food at 7/11. Be back soon. :)
I put the note on the kitchen counter and left with my skateboard, phone, and some money, making sure to lock the door behind me. Luckily, the 7/11 was only a 10-minute walk from my house. I opened the doors, hearing the little*ding dong* of the bell right above the door. After grabbing what the ga(y)ng wanted, I got a lemonade and some Goldfish for myself. I payed for the things and went to Lemon's house, since the other two were waiting in his front yard. Sugar, Lemon's sister, grabbed some of Lemon's gummies causing him to chase her into their house. We all talked for a while, but I left after the snacks were eaten and started to make my way back home.
I skated down the side of the road while eating some Goldfish, gazing at the trees and flowers by the sidewalk and determining which tree would be the best to climb. But as I looked at a really good climbing tree, I noticed a small path leading into the nearby forest. Even though I had taken this route to get food many times, I've never noticed that path.
I stopped my skateboard and walked towards the little trail. It was too small for a car to go through and there were no signs, so I doubt this could've been a private property. Looking down the path, I saw some nice flowers I could pick and make into a crown. I was curious to see what else was down there.
Eventually the curiosity was too much to handle, and I decided to venture into the forest.
