BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BE-

God, I hate my alarm.

Waking up, I grabbed my phone and stared at the time. It felt like I hadn't even gone to sleep, and it was six already. I turned it off and rolled over, staying there for a few minutes. But, I eventually got out of bed to avoid falling asleep again. I wish I didn't have to go to school. I would've dropped out a long time ago if I didn't have the need to be a good student.

I grabbed some jeans, a t-shirt, and a jumper and got changed. After brushing out my hair, I put on some jewelry because it makes every outfit better and grabbed my phone and backpack before heading downstairs.

"Morning Cosmo."

"Morning," I replied, trying my hardest not to yawn as I set my backpack by the door and made my way towards the fridge. Looking through the shelves, I decided on a bagel for breakfast. I put the bagel in the toaster as I grabbed the jar of peanut butter from the cupboard.

"What time will you be home from work? I need to know when to start making supper," Liam asked, getting ready to go to work. I don't know how he works almost every day, especially with the job he has. He has never seemed like the type of person to be a security guard. One look at him and you would think he worked as some bartender, or maybe even a cashier or some job like that. What's even more surprising is that he works for a big CEO. But, he has had the job for as long as I can remember; he worked alongside his sister, my mother. He only works during the day, but he has seen some insane things. Even my job is tiring, and I only work on weekdays. I don't get a ton of money out of it, but hey, it's something.

"I should be home at around five thirty, maybe six." I took the bagel out of the toaster and spread some peanut butter on it, taking bites of the bagel as I put the jar away.

"Okay, just making sure. I have to get to work, I'll see you later." Once he left the kitchen, I heard him grabbing what he needed and putting his shoes on by the door. He said a quick "Bye!" as he closed the door behind him. After I heard his car drive away, I finished my bagel and went to brush my teeth.

My phone dings while brushing, and I see it's from Lemon.

Hurry up, we're outside

I make sure I have everything and head outside to be greeted by my friends. I greet them with a yawn.

"Lock the door."

Oh shit, yeah. I always forget that. They all watch me waddle back to my door and make sure I lock it before we start walking to school.

"cosmo?"

"Cooosmo?"

"COSMO!"

"AAAAAH! WHAT?"

"I think you spaced out there dude. What 'cha thinkin about?" Lemon took a swig of his carton of chocolate milk. "Looked like you were gonna fall asleep. Don't tell me you stayed up all night again?"

Wait, it was lunch already? I thought it was only fourth period.

"Don't worry, I didn't stay up all night. What were we talking about again?"

They went on to talk about a new game, a show they watched, stuff happening in school, and god knows what else. "Oh, did anyone finish the homework for math?" Dew asks over Lemon and Sugar fighting over whether raccoons or possums were better. But me, a civilized person, knows that they are both good pets. "Yeah I have it," Pizza replied after a bite of, well, pizza. "Can't guarantee they're all right though." He gives the homework to her, and they start writing down the answers on her papers. "Give me the homework once you're done, I just need a question or two," I yell over the fighting. Their arguing was starting to get people's attention, as other students started to look towards our table. But it would end soon; these people have the attention span of a gummy bear.
