"I wonder where he is.. He should be here by now." Mumbled the girl to herself as she reached the school's foyer, looking for the one and only love of her life, Kim Mingyu.
That girl?
She's Kang Yeoreum.
Yes, her name means summer. It is her mom's favorite season, as well as autumn. That's why she was name after the summer season. Though, Yeoreum doesn't really like her name because it just doesn't suit her in her opinion, as she hates summer.
"Look! Isn't that Mingyu?!" Haeyeon, which is her best friend, shout-whispered to her.
Kim Mingyu. Yeoreum's crush for four years now. She've been liking him since middle school, but, Mingyu never even once notice her. He's a very popular guy at school, a lot of girls goes crazy over him because of his looks.
But not only because of his looks. It's also because he's tall, handsome, smart and athletic. He's basically the teacher's favorite as well!
Mingyu isn't the typical famous guy in high school coming from a wealthy family, no. Mingyu came from a small family. His mother owns a cafe and Mingyu often helps her whenever she needed help.
Yeoreum turned to where her best friend's pointing at and saw Mingyu talking and even laughing with a girl. Yeoreum definitely knew who she is.
She is Cha Jooyoung.
How her heart broke seeing him talking and laughing with that girl as if she's the only girl that make him the happiest man alive. Yeoreum have the urge feeling to come to him and grab him away from that girl but she knew that if she do so, she's making a bad reputation of herself since that guy is Mingyu and that girl is Jooyoung, the famous cheerleader at their school and she really shouldn't get involved.
So, Yeoreum just ran away.
"Yah! Yeoreum ah, wait!" Haeyeon shouted but Yeoreum could careless.
Her tears are falling, but slowly. She's running not knowing where she's going to, she just follow wherever her legs are leading her to. It is currently drizzling, the weather is quite cold, but luckily she's wearing her hoodie and her school blazer under her hoodie, to make her feel warm.
From drizzle, it turned to rain now. Yeoreum stopped running and found the surroundings so unfamiliar. She tried to look for a shelter since she's soaking wet here and that's when she found a nearby bus stop.
Sitting down, Yeoreum hugged herself.
"You look sad." Yeoreum was startled to see a woman who probably look like a grandmother. She have wrinkles on her face, gray hair and is standing in a stooped posture as if she have a hunched body.
Obviously looking so old.
There was suddenly a strong wind making Yeoreum shivered. She hugged herself even more tighter because of the cold, the cold became double colder because of the rain.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
"Yeah.. I'm fine."
"The mouth may said that you're fine, but not your heart." Yeoreum frowned hearing the grandmother's statement.
"This ring didn't have an owner for quite some time now. Why don't you just take this, I hope it'll be very helpful or maybe even beneficial for you." She handed Yeoreum the simple and dull looking ring that's obviously made of fake silver, it got literally no decoration at all. Yeoreum shrugged it off and grabbed the ring, not wanting to deal with her any further.
"A pretty girl like you shouldn't be wearing a frown and a sad face. Things might be hard for you, but you're actually strong to face everything." What the grandmother said really touched her heart.
