-Like Father, Like son
"One moment, I just got a package." Artemis says as he places his Ipad beside me. "Whats new." I mumble taking another swig of tequila.
I don't know how I'll ever fix the situation with Alexandra now. What I did wasn't right but it definitely needed to be done and sooner or later she'd see that, right?
I dial Dominico's number. "Hello." I speak into the phone after putting it up to my ear. Nothing but heavy breathing is heard throughout his end.
"Are you going to fucking speak?" I snap. "Yeah, sorry, what's up?" He asks.
"What's up is two of my shipments are missing again. I need you to get it back somehow and see if its this same uncle taking them." I say.
"Uhh.. okay. Got it." He says. "Where are you right now?" I ask. "I'm at my house, figuring stuff out." He answers.
"Oh. How is everyone?" I ask. "We're good." He replies.
"And your mom? How has she been doing? She doesn't need more help does she? Because I ca-" I ask. "Doctor says the treatment is effective." He quickly cuts me off.
Dominico's mother has been sick with breast cancer for years now. I help him out with the medical bills every now and then.
"Okay. Okay, good. Get my shipments." I demand.
"Got it, Capo." He says before hanging up.
Swigging from my glass I hear a bug echoey bang coming from the foyer. "Artemis?" I call out. Kid never knows how to do peace and quiet.
I then hear a thumb and shuffling
Just as I was about to overlook it I hear him scream.A hard, mind curdling horrid scream.
I abandon my glass and run as quickly as I could to the foyer hearing Artemis repeatedly scream.
I walk In on the boy flat out on the ground gasping for air like a fish on land. In front of him is a box and a decapitated head.
I rush over to him, put him on the couch and scan his face and body for any visual injuriesthere might be then I head straight for the box.
Men surround us in a safety protocal. Theyll all be fired for even allowing this shit to get in.
When I look at the box I see a yellow post it note with writing on it and I pick it up. "You're fun time is up." It reads. I cringe at the paper, it reminded me of something my father used to say.
Looking back at the decapitated head I reconize Jordan. They sent me Jordan Johnson's head and had my eleven year old open it.
Alexandra isnt here.
