It was may. Avery was relieved that it was finally summer, she was beyond exhausted of working all the time and just wanted a break.

Every year the Richards family would rent a villa in Cabo and spend some daily time there and this year was going to be no exception. Avery took in a deep breath and pulled her suitcase out of the loft. She opened her closet and packed everything she would need for the trip. she packed all her favourite bikinis and the cutest tops in her closet.

The next day Avery woke up and headed to the airport to catch a flight to Cabo. She reached in less than 3 hours. She got out of the airport and headed to the villa; where she met her parents and Ellianna. She pounced on Ellianna, hugging her. The two of them were incredibly close. She then hugged her parents who seemed overjoyed to meet her after months because both Ellianna and Avery moved to a different state for their jobs.

Avery moved her suitcase into her room and and changed out of her airport clothes into a cute pink crop top and white coloured shorts. She headed down the stairs and told her parents that she was going to the beach.

The sun casted a warm glow over the sea. Avery had never seen anything that seemed so magical. She picked her phone up to take a picture of the scene in front of her when she received a notification from Instagram archive, it was a reminder of the stories she had posted from her time in Monaco. It had been over a year since the Monaco Grand Prix, where Avery first met Noah. The unresolved feelings between them still remained in the air.

Avery couldn't help but be transported back to Monaco. She had a boyfriend she couldn't get distracted by memories of Noah.

"Hey, stranger," a familiar voice called out, bringing Avery back to the present. She turned to see Noah standing there, his green eyes sparkling like emeralds in the sunlight.

"Hi," Avery replied, her voice extremely low.Noah took a seat beside her, his veiny arms flexing as he rested his back on his elbows. "It's been too long,"."Y-yeah," Avery stammered, her heart racing. "It has."They sat together, watching the sun disappear beneath the ocean. Despite their shared history, there was an awkward silence between them, the unspoken words hanging heavy.

"Listen," Noah began, turning to face Avery. "About that night in my hotel..."Avery's breath hitched. She'd spent countless hours wondering what might have happened if Noah would have been ready for a relationship."Can we talk about it?" he asked gently.Avery hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Yeah, I think we should.""Good," Noah sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I've thought about you a lot, you know.""Really?" Avery's heart fluttered at the confession. "So have I.""Then why didn't we ever talk about it?" The frustration in his voice was evident.Avery looked into his eyes, seeing the sincerity within them.

As their faces inched closer, the lingering tension between them began to dissipate, replaced by the magnetic pull drawing their lips together. When their mouths finally met, it was as if time stood still, the world around them was fading away, leaving only the intimate connection they shared between them.

Their tongues danced together, exploring the depths of each other's desire. The taste of their yearning was intoxicating, fueling the fire that had smoldered between them for far too long. But as the kiss deepened, reality seeped back in, reminding them of the consequences their actions might bring. They both knew they couldn't ignore the unresolved feelings any longer; it was time to confront them head-on and decide what the future held for them – together or apart.

"Let's figure this out, okay?" Noah murmured against her lips."Okay," Avery agreed, her voice barely audible. She knew that no matter the outcome, their lives would be forever changed. But in that moment, with her heart pounding in her chest and Noah's arms wrapped tightly around her, she felt an overwhelming sense of hope that love would ultimately prevail.
The sun dipped low over the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink as it kissed. Avery Richards stood on the balcony of their luxurious Cabo vacation villa, taking in the breathtaking view that stretched before her. The waves crashed against the shore, asking her to join them, but she remained rooted to the spot, her thoughts consumed by a memory from long ago.

"Isn't it incredible, Ave?" Elliana, her sister, stepped beside her and slipped an arm around her waist. "I can't believe we're here again.""Me neither," Avery murmured, forcing herself to focus on the present. She loved these yearly family vacations, cherished the time spent with her loved ones away from the demands of everyday life."Are you okay? You've been quiet ever since we got here," Elliana probed gently, concern lacing her voice.Avery offered a small smile. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just wish Elijah could have come with us.""Ugh, work always gets in the way, doesn't it?" Elliana sympathised.

"But hey, at least you know he's making progress on that big project of his. And besides, we'll make sure you have plenty of fun without him."

"Thanks, Ellie," Avery replied, leaning into her sister's embrace. She knew Elliana meant well, but the thought of Elijah back home, buried under piles of work, only served to heighten her own feelings of loneliness. If only he were here, then maybe the ghost of her past wouldn't haunt her so persistently.

"Come on, let's go inside. Mom's whipping up some of her famous tacos, and Dad's already started the margaritas," Elliana suggested, pulling Avery toward the sliding glass door that led back into the villa."Sounds perfect," Avery agreed, allowing herself to be led inside. She took a deep breath, inhaling the comforting scent of home-cooked food and laughter that filled the air. For now, she would push her unresolved feelings aside and focus on enjoying her time with her family.

"Here, Ave," her father handed her a frosty margarita as she entered the living room. "To another unforgettable vacation.""Cheers to that," Avery raised her glass, clinking it against his before taking a long sip, savoring the tangy sweetness that danced across her tongue. The warmth of the drink spread through her, bringing a temporary sense of ease."Let's make this the best one yet, okay?" her mother chimed in, eyes sparkling with excitement. "I've got so many plans for us!"

Avery smiled at her mother's enthusiasm, nodding in agreement. "Definitely, Mom. I'm looking forward to it."

As her family gathered around the dinner table, laughter and conversation filling the room, Avery allowed herself to be swept up in the moment. For now, she would bury her past – and the memories that threatened to resurface – deep within her heart, determined to make the most of their time together in paradise.

"Here's to love, family, and making beautiful memories together," Avery made a toast, raising her glass once more. And with that, she pushed her thoughts of Noah Evans to the back of her mind, focusing instead on the love that surrounded her and the joy of being with those who meant the most to her.
