To capture the spirits, I eat up all their power

Legends have told me about the one, the only and the most precious creature. They are what the humans want to groom as treasures to keep, and when night comes, they'll become the most powerful alive. This is the tale of an old mystical legend, will o'l the wisp.

One has been written that there's an evil witch who lived in a wooden house near the forest of Mystery, she always dreamed to be the best of the best, so she'd do anything to get what she wanted. Everyday, she screamed and yelled at her daughter to do the house errands like a servant and hit her when things are not done perfectly. One day, she found out a way to become the most powerful witch from a book, it says: "Make a potion with a pure, youthful drip of blood and the vitality of one wisp only inside the forest, one thing to remember: if you use our own blood, you'll be stronger but you'll live shorter, you should consider the choice. If you use more than one wisp, you'll be weaker every time you use your power". But greed takes over wit, she took two spirits and boomed the whole plan. When two wisps are put into the bottle of the potion pot, their spirits collided, formed a dense blue smoke and created a newborn spirit that escaped right after and took the witch's vitality, left a bit of its power in the pot. A few years later, she died. Not only that, the daughter also get shorter life because she was forced to take her blood for the potion. After that, everything changed for the worse, and the rest ... is history."

"End of the story, you can go to bed now honey" - Said a woman in a soft, chill tone, she looks young enough to be a babysitter, but she's a mother, and she's Audrey's mother.

"But what about the rest mom?" - Audrey asked impatiently, clearly she's not ready for bed time

"That's all I know, now please go to sleep, maybe you'll discover the rest of the story sometimes later, somehow. Goodnight, and have a sweet sleep."

Audrey said in a bored and sleepy voice: "You too, mom."

February 3rd, 2006

Audrey's family is leaving their house today, permanently. They are moving to a whole new big city for the first time of their life. Of course she's excited, but her bedroom made her a little homesick so quickly. Like a little garden of rose tinted royal appeal, yet tell-tale adventurous, to her is a journey of fantasy that no one else could have. She leaned over the fluffy pillows pile and hugged them tight as if she had to say goodbye to them, though she'd definitely bring them along.

"Don't be sad honey. When we got there, you'll have a new room of the exact vibe you love, if not it can be better."

Audrey was lightened up, of course she'd keep her journey alive.

Audrey's mom - Mrs. Roxanne squeezed her teeth and said cheerfully: "Yes, tonight is the night! Aren't you excited, honey?"

"Never better than right now, mom" - She said joyfully, the three of them swinging and dancing around the exquisite set of their new home, next to the cozy fire hearth added with dreamy decorations. "This will be so much more fun than Christmas."

The moment has come, the smooth, woody scented floor of their lovely living room turned into a theme park run by the Neverland kids with a spooky touch to land on a dark fairytale. This gate led them to so much more outside the Ghost Family festival. Then that magical garden is no longer a secret of Gnomes, it's now a secret of all spookers in the land of Cork.

Audrey was standing among the new faces surrounding her curious look, she tried to find all the way out while bumping into a fellow young member of the garden, the girl looks about the same age as her and she was wearing a floating dress, like Audrey just reached a wisp as her friendly knight.

"Hello there, are you alright? You need a hand?" - The girl said then bended down to help her up after she fell from bumping - "You seem new, I heard you just moved here with your family right, oh, and my names is Kayla by the way."

"Hi, I'm Audrey" - She said and reached the girl's hand

"Nice to meet you Audrey, I love your dress by the way, it's so lovely, and you look like a fairy princess."

"Thank you, I love yours too, it makes me think of a pixie wisp, a very cute one" - Audrey smiled full of wit

The two girls laughed adorably, then Kayla said:

"You should go meet my friends, I gotta introduce you to them, they gonna like you. Wanna come with me?"

"Sounds cool, just give me a sec" - Audrey said then she ran back to the party where Mrs. Roxanne is still out there enjoying the vibe - "Mom, can I go with Kayla, she's my new friend, we just talked a minute ago."

"Sure thing, honey, just don't get lost , this place is huge."

There has never been a better autumn than the autumn they were having at that moment. Everyone was having the best of their Halloween time. Audrey, Kayla and the other friends Yui and Alexa indulged in the supernatural world where they can meet their forks on the other side. They experienced the fun of Cork games and dishes . When the eerie tune of the music turned on, the crowd bounce up and down like night wave on the beach.

"Hey, I have an idea" - Yui said "Let's do something funner than these games."

"Ooohh, what's on your sneaky little mind now, Yui?" - Kayla jokingly ask

"Come one, you know it'll be funner, I mean we haven't even discovered the whole Cork yet, so I guess a little hide 'n seek would seal the deal." - Yui grinned playfully, making the Halloween atmosphere more conniving.

"Hmm.. maybe that would help, well guess I'm good with that. Okay, game on." - Alexa toned up as her spirits raised

"Alright then, everybody rock paper scissors first, whoever lose will be the seeker, the rest of us...will explore the dark Neverland unmarked."

A moment after, our new girl Audrey had to be the chaser.

"Pfff, they couldn't hide this far and deep, I've never seen anyone play hide and seek like that." - Audrey made a slight sigh while struggling to spot the girls.

After a while, she grew more impatient and bored, and she started to grumbled a bit, then a sudden curiosity rise up from her head: "haven't discovered the whole Cork yet", RIGHT, wouldn't that be great if she just go on and grab the whole spectacle way before anyone could, "Wouldn't that be more thrilling", she thought to herself, "Well then, that's too bad for you guys."

Like a response aligning her sense through the ground and emerged within the night, Audrey found her way into a narrow but mysterious alley; strangely enough, the alley filled almost completely with darkness, no significant touch of light indicated, or filtered. Still, she came more closely, then suddenly, a voice came out, out of nowhere, it echoed:

"What are you doing here?" - a raspy sound infiltrated the night vibe

*A note for later events when Jack the humanoid wisp showed up:

In the original English fork tale, wisps are the wandering sprits that symbolize past lives or the fairies that lure travelers to be lost at night, so in this story when the youthful blood of a human absorb into their souls, they had a second life in their human shape like the Jack's rebirth from his parents' blended spirits. His rebirth can draw a line to the Irish Ghost Family festival in human and ghost interaction literally.

P.S: Here's a description of the protagonists: Aumi is a teenage girl with a small stature and bright red hair that can glow especially at night, and Jack is boy with wisp appearance and power, he's the same age as Aumi but look a bit more mature than her , he has spiky blue hair (like the wisp color).
