UNBELIEVABLE

Epilogue: All it takes is One Step...

Eda smiled, that full display of beautiful dimples smile. Serkan took a breath, looked at her and smiled back. They embraced one another tightly, both reluctant to release their holds but they did, except for their hands. They kept their hands joined, neither realized that they hadn't let go.
Eda was first to speak asking him what he was doing there. Serkan asked her the same. Both said " for vacation" at the same time and laughed. Still grasping one another's hands. They began to walk. They walked through the streets of Montemarte, holding hands and reconnecting hearts.
They walked and talked about their work and lives. They went to lunch and sat and shyly looked into one another's eyes. Serkan had spent the last 3 years being the man he was when he and Eda were together. Being open and sharing his emotions, spending time with friends and family and not being a workaholic. Eda spent the last 3 years being focused on herself but recognizing the importance of having the love and support of those close to you. Eda realized that she can have both, she doesn't have to sacrifice herself for love. Both have emotionally matured and are aware of their mistakes and what they want.
Serkan can hold it back no longer and says, "Eda, I have missed you over these last 3 years. I spent all this time being open and honest with others. Looking at it now, I see that I spent my time being a man that you could be proud of. A man that I should have been all along. I know I made so many mistakes and hurt you more times than I can count but those days are over.
Eda interrupts him and says, "Serkan we hurt each other, it wasn't just you. I stood behind you and never tried to stand beside you and got mad at you for it. I have always stood my ground but I didn't and we both were hurting. I have missed you every day over the last 3 years. I have achieved my dream, but I also realize that I was working and trying to be successful to make you proud. I named my business"Fairy Lands" thinking about you and you calling me a fairy.
Without another word spoken, Serkan stood up reached out to grasp Eda's neck,; Eda reached up to run her palm along his bearded cheek and their lips connected. They kissed for a few minutes , reminiscent of the epic kiss on the water front, remembering one another's tastes and preferences. Serkan's light suction of Eda's bottom lip and Eda's light suction of Serkan's upper lip. They pulled apart, smiled at one another and both said " let's try again." Looking at one another, foreheads touching, thumbs rubbing one anothers, hearts beating quickly, erratic breaths, both said "I love you".
This chance encounter of two soulmates, continued their love story. Eda and Serkan spent the rest of their vacation together. Enjoying each other and loving one another endlessly. After their vacation was over after in depth discussion, they parted,Eda to Italy and Serkan back to Istanbul. This separation was only temporary as Eda was just making arrangements at her office so she could return to Istanbul.
     Serkan returned from his vacation smiling and happy. Artlife staff couldn't help but wonder if Serkan had met someone, he had only dated once and that was very briefly since parting ways with Eda. Artlife missed Eda, she was not forgotten or forbidden to talk about, they were aware of her success. Artlife was successful as well and much more positive and pleasant, Serkan got rid of Selin, he was friendly with everyone and didn't work long hours or expect his team to.
    So seeing him smiling wasn't unusual but his smile seemed more radiant and he seemed to have a bounce in his step since his return. Engin being the best friend and partner had to ask, " so I'm guessing your vacation went well Abi. You seem rested and happy. Did things go well during your vacation, did you meet someone? You are acting like you are in love, we haven't seen that in a long time Abi, if that's what this is, I am so happy for you, you deserve to be happy and loved. I know you loved Eda and she loved you but there was just too much drama and hurt there to get past I guess. No one blames the two of you for parting ways. You both became who you were always meant to be. So if a new woman has came into your life and she is what is making you this happy, I can't wait to meet her and Piril and the rest of your family will feel the same, including Melo and Ceren. We all just want you and Eda to be happy, together or not." Serkan smiled at Engin, hugged him and slapped him on the back but didn't say a word.
   In Italy, Eda was packing up her things and sending them to the address Serkan had given her. They had spoken to one another numerous times every day, mostly at night as the ly reconnected while star gazing. They texted one another throughout the day as well. Neither wanted to get back into the old habit of not communicating but assuming the other knew how they felt or what they wanted to say, so they shared what they were thinking or feeling immediately with the other always looking for confirmation or feedback. It had been two weeks since she had returned from her vacation, Eda was always a happy person but now she was positively glowing and her smile was radiant, no one was immune to her beautiful smile and it garnered her much attention but she ignored it all. Eda me get with her staff and informed them of her return to Istanbul. She did this with a smile on her face as well, no tears or sadness at all. Her staff were surprised but due to Eda's obvious happiness they were not upset. Eda did not leave them to fend for themselves but had brought in a landscape architect that she had worked with before with lots of experience to take over so that "Fairy Lands" and her employees would still be available and have jobs. Eda's staff were overjoyed to still be able to keep the jobs they so loved and each wished Eda well.
     After 3 weeks since returning from Paris, Serkan was still happy and smiling all the time,  he was considerate of others time and feelings but today he was extra everything, more excited almost bouncing in his feet, unable to be still. He looked at his watch repeatedly as if waiting for someone or something. At lunch time, he stood up and gathered everyone in the office. He told his staff that he appreciated all that they have done and put up with over the years. He apologized for being a "robot" before and expecting everyone to be "robots" too. The staff looked around at the word "robot" no one had heard that word related to Serkan since Eda had called him one to his face all those years ago. Melo looked at Ceren, who looked at Piril, who looked at Engin, who was looking at Serkan at that comment, all thinking " that was too random to be just random, right?" All eyes were on Serkan, his eyes were big and bright and looking at the entryway. Just then a tall woman with shoulder length  curly hair entered the office, wearing black stilettos and a blush pink dress and dark sun glasses. Eyes that were previously looking at Serkan were now looking at the woman of Serkan's life. A large part of the office was a little heartbroken about this new woman in Serkan's life but his happiness was contagious and things always work out as they are meant to in the end, so everyone smiled in response to Serkan's obvious love and adoration. Even Melo and Ceren, though hesitant couldn't resist. Serkan walked up to this woman, held her hand and kissed her passionately in front of everyone. Jaws dropped and silence ensued. Serkan guided the woman to stand next to him, all eyes were in them. Serkan said, " friends, I want to introduce you to my heart, my reason for being and my very breath." Melo and Ceren felt disgruntled and almost betrayed as those words were words that Serkan used to describe Eda and now he was using those same words to describe his feelings for another woman. They looked at one another and decided to turn and walk away, feeling that this was too much and too hurtful towards their friend Eda. How would they tell her about this new woman in Serkan's life and heart. They held one another hand and turned to leave the gathering when Serkan called their names. They turned to him, trying not to show their hurt and attempted smiles in his direction. Serkan smirked and said " Melo, Ceren I see your faces and I know what you're thinking and feeling but you are very important to me and I want you to be happy for me. This woman means the world to me and as a big part of my world I want you guys to meet." Just then the woman, took off her sunglasses and yelled " I missed you so much kizlar," and wrapped them in her arms. The kizlar screamed and jumped up and down with tears of happiness at not only Eda's return but their long overdue reunion. The office erupted into cheers of exuberance at the return of  Eda and Serkan, in business they were innovative and creative and worked together seamlessly but in their personal lives they were bonded and obviously UNBREAKABLE!!!
