A few days passed since the audition with Marcus. The news of the group's new songwriter hit news outlets around Japan, and the gossip that followed was more around the fact Japanese is a second language to the foreigner, which the fanbase loved.
It was Sunday, a rest day for the idols as they had been working all week, finding and bringing their composer up to speed with their own progress. This also included an introduction and tape recording of his performance published on YouTube, which Memcho could not wait to do.
"So, Monarch," Kana looked to the new boy of the group with a questioning look. "What brought you to Japan? I heard England is a good place for musicians to start with."
Memcho chimed in with her cheery smile, "Yeah, Marcus! Was it the ladies?" She gave a teasing wink to the prodigy before a giggle slipped through. "I'm joking!"
They all sat in a cafe on the outskirts of Tokyo, wanting to keep their presence unknown so as to not get bombarded by paparazzi. It was Kana's idea, as Aqua and his work girlfriend mistakenly showed where they were.
Marcus gulped, his face turning red at the streamer's comment. His hair was down today, so he tried to cover the blush by looking down. "Uh..." he started nervously, an awkward chuckle coming from his mouth, "Believe it or not, it started with an anime..." he appeared nervous around the girls.
"Ooh! An anime man!? What was it?" Memcho asked as she leaned on the table, sipping on an iced frappe she had ordered when they arrived.
The emerald-eyed boy looked at the girls before looking down, flustered. "It was... Your Lie In April..."
The girls sharing blonde hair gasped whilst Kana shook her head at them.
"That completely broke my heart!" Ruby commented, tears coming to her eyes as she remembered it.
"Yeah!" Memcho said as she looked at Ruby. "Especially when-"
"Oi oi oi!" Kana interrupted them. "No spoilers! Some here may not have watched it yet!?" She yelled at them, fury in her eyes.
The two got silent and nodded.
The silence was then filled with laughter, the first laugh they heard from the emerald-eyed boy. "Wow, I'm relieved I'm not the only one to enjoy anime that much," he spoke with a beaming smile.
Ruby looked at the ravenette and smiled with contentment. She noticed how the boy never really laughed but kept a calm and collected persona whenever he was around them. Maybe it was because he was getting used to being around them.
"Anyway, what made you audition with us?" the child actor genius asked the guitarist, tilting her head as she sipped a coffee.
Marcus looked at her confused before looking at Ruby, "Didn't you ask me this before?" he asked, confused as to why the centre act didn't share it with her group.
