"Wake my love." I wake to Ama's quiet voice and her kiss to my lips. I feel our bodies still as bare as when we went to sleep.
My eyes open and lock onto hers above me. "Good morning." She smiles.
I grin, face warm. "Good morning." This time I meet her lips with my own, feeling her smile into the kiss.
She pulls away and stares at me, still smiling. "What would you prefer for breakfast?"
"Whatever you wish for, I'll help make it." I smile.
"Would you be alright with uwaga?"
I nod remembering that to be one of the fruits that grows wild. "Yes."
She smiles and pecks my mouth before standing up allowing me to see all of her. She begins grabbing her garments from the ground and shakes them before putting them on.
With a yawn I stand and fetch my own garments from the ground. As I am shaking them out I feel a wetness trickle down my leg. I let my hand brush against it and bring it back to my view only to find a white substance on it.
I go to the pot of water Ama keeps inside and wash my self as clean as I can before dressing myself.
"You will not work today as we will wait for your brother." She says as I straighten out my dress.
I hum and begin putting on my shoes as she does hers.
"Shall we?" She stands in front of me with her hand out when we've finished.
I smile and grab her hand, letting her lead me out of our home by the hand. "I enjoy the softness of your hands." She says as we walk, bringing the back of my hand to meet her lips.
I giggle quietly. "They likely won't stay that way here."
She laughs along as she drops our hands. "Likely not."
As we walk we pass many and Ama greets them. One of them being Dutsu walking opposite of us.
He looks at me and smiles. "Good morning."
I give him a fake smile and return the saying not wanting to be rude even if it's deserved.
He looks to Ama next and whistles lowly with a smirk. ("You're quite lucky to have such a fine lay.")
With what he says Ama abruptly stops and squeezes my hand, an angry glare on him. He stops walking as well now smirking in what I assume to be amusement at getting a rise out of Ama.
("She is so much more than a fine lay, how dare you talk so lowly of her.") Though I don't know what was said Ama's voice has a bite to it.
Dutsu laughs. ("You sound as if you love her.")
She begins shaking in her spot. I gently rub my thumb over the back of her hand and she takes a deep breath. ("I do. I don't know why you would think that funny.")
Dutsu seems to mock her with his laughs. ("Because love is a way of the white men but even many of them don't love their wives and the wives certainly don't love their husbands. I could easily get Connie to lay with me.")
Seeming to have enough Ama releases my hand and walks to him. In the blink of an eye and no words said she raises her fist and jabs Dutsu in the nose causing him to stumble back. My eyes widen and a few around gasp at how fast their few words have escalated but say nothing for not knowing what to say. Surely it was deserved.
("You will not disrespect me!") Ama yells quite close to his face clearly not fearing him even with him being slightly taller.
His hand comes up to his bloody nose, anger in his eyes. He swings a fist at her but she catches his fist only making him laugh. ("You disrespect yourself by being with a white woman. I'm sure she is quite used but I'll find out in time.") He grins only to taunt her it seems.
