There was a little grief in the background. After Maykala's shower, Kylie and Max helped her to get ready for bed. Max grabbed the clothes while Kylie whipped the dry blood off with a soaked wet towel, that was not used. Max had those unsafe eyes face, he felt uncomfortable leaving Makayla alone sleeping in here. No Lydian, Kai, Bailey or the others to keep her company. Except Max and Kylie who will be going to Makayla's room to calm her down.
"Max, can you pass me the clothes please?" Kylie asked.
Max shook his head and turned to her; he was dozed off.
"Huh?"
"The clothes for Makayla, pass them to me please." She replied again.
Max nodded quickly, he got up and opened the first drawer to get Makayla's sleeping clothes for her bedtime. He turned to Kylie and passed them to her.
"Thanks." She sweetly replied.
"Mhm." Max mumbled.
"Look away Max, I'm going to take off Makayla's towel so I could put her sleeping clothes on." Kylie replied, "Don't look till I tell you to."
Max sighed and rolled his eyes. "I can leave if you want."
"Sure, that sounds better than looking away." Kylie chuckled.
Max chuckled then he left the room, closing the door slowly. Not to slam it like he was angry or something.
"I'm sorry if it feels cold in the room when I take your towel off..." Kylie gently replied, focusing on taking it off.
Makayla whimpered and she whined, while Kylie was putting her warm pajamas on.
"All done." Kylie replied, panting.
"Yay!" She exclaimed.
Kylie sighed, trying to calm herself down.
"Well," She started, "Max can come in now, I'll call him!"
Max was downstairs talking to Addison about something, pretty important.
"Addison I can't..." Max replied, "She's going to reject me! You know Kylie..."
Addison: "She won't, she loves you and she might go out with you. You'll never know-
"Max!" Kylie called out.
Max sighed, "I'll talk to you in the morning..."
"Ok..." Addison sighed in defeat, he walked to his bedroom with Kai. Now that Camilo has left to his new house, Addison could sleep with Kai. For now, just in case if he returns.
"Yeah?" Max asked.
"You could come in, is her pajama outfit cute?" She asked.
Max felt his heart warmed after seeing Makayla playing with her teddy bear.
She was a cute little innocent demon cat. Max smiled,
"It's adorable!"
Kylie snickered, "I know right!"
Makayla turned to Max, and she giggled like a little girl.
"How old are you Makayla?" Questioned Max.
"I'm only 5 years old..." She whimpered, "And I have no parents, just trying to survive at the sidewalk with all the bad people, I met along the way..."
"Oh wow... That's sounds like my mom's..." Kylie gently replied, feeling her heart sad...
Max gasped, "really?"
"Yeah, she had to go through all of that. With her sister..." Kylie whimpered.
"Aww. Pretty heartbreaking. Well, Let's just go to bed and stop talking about sad stuff..." Max replied, in a cheering voice.
Kylie and Makayla nodded, with agreement.
"Wait, Kylie before you leave can I get a bedtime story?" Makayla asked, quickly.
She turned around with affectionless eyes, "Really?"
"Yeah, I never had a story before sleeping!" She exclaimed. "Please?"
"Ok, What story?" Kylie asked, sweetly.
"Any!" She exclaimed, happily. Jumping up and down.
"I'll pick one." Max replied, walking to the bookshelf.
Kylie nodded, she grabbed a seat from the corner and placed it in the center. She grabbed Makayla under her armpits. She placed her in the crib, with her teddy bear on the side.
"Yay, bedtime story! Bedtime story!" She chanted excitedly.
Kylie snickered, so did Max hold the book in his hands.
"Here, Kylie." Max handed.
"Thanks, what's this book?" Kylie asked.
"The sheep story, I forgot the name. I haven't got read from a book ever since I was little." Max snickered, "I never had parents, they died."
Kylie sighed sadly.
"Same..."
"Woah..." Max replied, "We have the same backstory! I could've met you back then."
Kylie snickered off the joke, so did Max.
"Me too." She replied.
"Well read the book to Makayla. So, we could just sleep." Max added.
Kylie nodded, she sat down in the chair and opened the book. To the first page and she started reading in her soft voice.
Max sat beside Kylie on the floor leaning on her legs, paying close attention to the book. Makayla sat down and she tried to lay down and fall asleep, while hearing Kylie's soft voice.
Which made her almost fell asleep. Makayla looked around the room, then sighed.
