CHAPTER 1: The Grocery Run

In a dark, illuminated room, a lightbulb shines down on a stand with a blue bandana resting on it. Leo slowly walks in and reaches in for his mask, tightly wrapping it around his face, and the gang gears up.

Donnie skillfully spins his Bo Staff with his one hand, Leo grabs hold of his ninjato blades and sheaths them, Mikey shows off his nunchuck skills and places them onto his belt, and Raph goes to sharpen his Sai's and goes as far as to lick them to look more bad ass.

The turtles all meet together, waiting for one last person. A human steps out from the shadows, wraps his white headband like a scarf around his neck, and sheaths his kunai knives onto his leg holster. "Let's go, guys," Y/N says in a serious tone.

Up above the surface area, the streets were empty, and the gang burst out of the manhole cover and secretly climbed onto the building's rooftop. They all ran quickly from rooftop to rooftop, and they all landed in a bad ass pose; their eyes showed nothing but seriousness.

"Master Splinter Has Given Us A Very Important Mission Tonight," Leo says, planting his fists together. Y/N looks in his direction, just listening carefully. "The target is across the street. We Must Use Stealth And Cunning! To Infiltrate The Human World To Retrieve... Go Gurt!" Leo Exclaims.

Reality sets in; everybody no longer looks like a bold, strong ninja but just normal now. "Oooh, Go Gurt," Raph mocks Leo, clearly not enjoying his hilarious attempt to appear dominant. "Yea, ok Batman." Mikey comments, "What? I'm just trying to hype you guys up; I mean, you were hyped up right, Y/N?" Leo asks his adopted sibling.


Y/N hid it well, but they were groaning to themselves on the inside. "Gosh, I don't even want to say anything right now to be honest," they thought, but they put up a good act. "It was pretty good," Y/N says with a smile. Donnie just laughed. "Yeah, of course you'd ask them; they're like the only person who listens to you, Leo," he teases.


Everyone just chuckled at Donnie's remark, and Raph shoves Leo aside while taking the list to see what we had. Y/N takes notice of Leo's down expression and feels bad for him. They sigh and go to Leo. "I hate how Donnie's right... but like, I can see him trying; at least I've got to give him props," they thought.


Y/N places a hand on Leo's shell. "I think you're doing a good job; they're just joking," They say to him, and he immediately cheers up. Thanks, Y/N, if only the guys could be just as obedient as you," Leo says, and they nod. "Backhanded compliment moment here," Y/N thought.

The two teens look back at the other turtles and say, "He was very specific about that party size; he underlined it twice." Donnie says while reading out the list, Leo moves past Y/N and snatches the grocery list. Ok, Donnie, you're on toliet trees," he commands, and Donnie just groans, "alright."

Raph, you're going to be stocking up the pantry; Mikey, you're on junk food," Leo says. Raph rolls his eyes while Mikey happily accepts his task. "And Y/N," he says while pointing at them. "Hm?" Y/N asks, after getting lost in his thoughts, "You're on hygiene duty." Y/N simply nods, "And remember, Don't Let Any Humans See You, because why?" Leo says.


Mikey realizes that Leo was going to go on about Master Splinters speech about how humans are nothing but evil. You might want to cover your ears for this," Mikey says to Y/N before covering their ears. This didn't make Y/N feel any better; if anything, it made them feel worse, alienated.

"I really appreciate you, Mikey, but you're doing too much for me; you don't have to help a nobody like me." Y/N thought to himself. They sighed as their hearts sank, looking at Leo as he proudly made his speech about demoralizing humans while looking down at their own skin.

Their ears were no longer covered by Mikey, and he can hear him also speaking directly at them. "And I'm sorry, Y/N, about the whole... yk, but that's what dad taught us," Leo says while he tries to avoid the term awkwardly, but Y/N just pushes their feelings aside. "Yeah, don't worry," they say.

"I mean, I think humans are kind of cool; I mean, there's Y/N," Mikey says while bringing the spotlight to them. "You just had to bring the attention onto me?" They thought, and Donnie went and ruffled their H/C hair. "Yea, I find it so cool how somebody could follow Leo around like a little puppy," Donnie said while trying to act all cute like they were babies.

Raph raises his fists up and screams at Y/N's face unexpectedly, RAHH." Y/N yelps while shielding himself, "What a damn loser." Raph simply says while shoving Y/N to the side, rude." They mumbled to themselves, but Raph heard, Well, Do Something About it." He says while getting his sai ready.


Y/N backs up onto the rooftop ledge; they really don't like upsetting people. "I-I didn't mean it," they say. Leo steps between the two siblings. "Guys! Can we stop? We've got a job to do," he says while grasping the list. The group stares down at the store where they'll be stealing. "Let's go," Leo says in his dramatic voice again.

Alright," Y/N says while getting ready to break into the store. The group wasn't taking the two seriously, though. OoOooOHh, I'm the leader," they all mocked. "Oh, Leo, whatever will I do without you?" Raph says while punching Y/N's shoulder. Dude, you sound like you have bronchitis!" Donnie teases Leo.

Later....

Down inside the store, Leo opens up the roof case where the camera was located. "Y/N, distraction," Leo says, and Y/N digs through his backpack and pulls out a detailed drawing of a shopping aisle. "Good art as usual," Leo compliments, and he sticks it onto the camera. The duo dropped to the ground, and Leo signaled for him to go to the cleaning area.


Y/N opens his backpack and grabs as many cleaning materials as he can grab his hands on. Living in a sewer can be very unhealthy and unhygienic, especially for a non-mutant like Y/N. An hour later, the teens climb up an escape as a news report plays on the big screen TV. Y/N takes notice of it as they hear about the new crime spree going on.


"I really wish I could do something about this." Y/N thought, they noticed the team getting onto the roof, and Y/N ignored his heart. "Maybe the police will find this superfly guy," they thought. The group all came together on a roof while carrying bags of everything they needed to survive for a few months.


Leo is the first to say, "Not Bad! Getting home on a good note, let's get these groceries to—" Leo gets cut off by Raph, "whoa whoa what? Come on, we've only been out for an hour; let's stay out," he says. Y/N looks between Raph and Leo, unsure who to follow. "But didn't we tell Splinter that we wouldn't do this ever again?" Y/N says.

Raph groans and stares down Y/N. Dude, like, actually, are you ever going to be fun?" He asks, clearly having annoyance in his voice. Y/N gulped and looked down. Leo wraps his arm around his neck. "Guys Y/N right, we promised we wouldn't do this anymore; I mean, last week we went to Madison Square Garden to watch the nicks," Leo says.


"And the week before we watched the Adele concert," He says, and the group besides Y/N started talking about how amazing the concert was. "She caught me off guard with her performance, actually," Y/N said. Leo sighs, "Splinter Is Gonna Catch On, And We're Gonna Get Grounded." Leo exclaimed, and Donnie got off his phone and looked at him. "He's a shut-in; he doesn't know how long it takes him to do things; for all he knows, it takes us three hours to get to the bodega," he said.


Y/N sighs, "I don't know guys, I mean, what are we going to do? It's like quiet here tonight in New York," he points out, but Donnie cheers in excitement, "Oh Hey! There's an outdoor movie night in Brooklyn," Donnie says while moving past the teens. Y/N groaned, ugh, I spoke too soon..." they mumbled.

Mikey follows Donnie first: "Oh, ho, I hope it's a funny movie!" He exclaimed, "I hope it's a violent one!" Raph shouts, "Just chill out, Raph." Donnie says Leo and Y/N stood there stunned. "Come On guys, Stop Moping around!" Mikey shouted, and Leo groaned, "Alright guys, Wait Up!" Leo shouted, and Y/N stood there. "We're so getting into trouble," Y/N mumbled before running.
