"Time to go!" Irina grins as she stands. She puts the now open black knapsack on the bed and takes out clothes and boots. My panic rises at the sound of chaos outside my door... I stare at Irina and Vlad. This is really happening, there are people coming for me.

"Put these on, we're going to have to run soon." She says and tosses clothes and boots in my direction.

"Wait...you want me to what?" I ask puzzled.

"Come on! We have to go now!" Irina exclaims.

"One question kid, do you want to live or are you okay with dying right now?" Vlad asks from over his shoulder.

"I...I...of course I want to live!" I stutter then proclaim. Fear twists into knots in my chest and I hesitate to reach for the clothes.

"Then you better get dressed and fast! I'll help." Irina answers. I take a breath and undress. I'm out of my hospital gown in seconds, I briefly experience deep embarrassment at having someone help me with my underwear but it quickly dissolves when we hear security yelling at someone to drop their weapons. Gunfire erupts a few seconds later and more screaming pierces the door. I gape at Irina in horror and find that she hasn't lost her composure at all. I push away the fear gnawing away in my stomach and force myself to focus on getting dressed. Irina calmly coaxes me into my pale blue t-shirt and tosses me a sweater. Irina digs in her pants pockets and pulls out a pair of black gloves, puts them on then opens the mouth of her knapsack further.  I pull off all the bandages decorating my body as I go laying them on the bed, I get to the ones on my right arm but it won't budge. I abandon it in frustration and zip up my dark jeans. I stuff my feet into the boots, which surprisingly fit well and reach for the last piece of clothing. Pulling my arms through the black sweater, I catch sight of what else Irina has taken out of her bag.

"Are those... guns?" I gasp incredulously.

"Yes, We have to protect ourselves. Those people we warned you about earlier aren't going to play nice since they've already found out we got to you first." She replies as she begins strapping them to the inside of her jacket and then her thighs. I'm about to ask another question but don't get the chance. Bullets spear through the wall and Irina pushes me to the floor. We swiftly pop up on our hands and knees, once we're sure neither of us are injured we call out to Vlad. I peer over the bed and see that he's taken cover by the black chairs, Vlad motions for us to stay down but Irina is way ahead of him. She crawls on her hands and knees to the edge of the bed, Vlad frowns at her but slides over the large messenger bag. Vlad then removes his army jacket revealing a slim muscular build covered by a plain t-shirt, he slides over the jacket too and stands in front of the door again. Irina stuffs her knapsack closed and squishes it against her chest along with Vlad's bag and jacket.

"I know you're in there." A deep voice darkly teases from behind the door.

"Bring it on asshole." Vlad grinds out with a vicious sneer. Then something happens that I know I will never forget... The man breaks down the front door and tries to shoot Vlad. He releases an inhuman growl that reverberates down to my bones, dodges the first shot with incredible speed and tackles the shooter before he can fire again. Both men scuffle on the floor; Irina and I stand up and attempt to make a break for the door but the man points the gun in our direction. Vlad grabs onto it and the two of them fight for control, Irina jumps in front of me and uses her body to corral me backwards. The gun goes off and breaks a halogen light near the window, I scream and cringe. Irina flinches slightly but recovers then she unlatches her own gun, cocking it at the mystery man.

"Damn it! I can't get a clear shot!" She shouts over the commotion. Vlad begins to punch the man but he won't let go of the gun. The man unexpectedly rolls over, throwing Vlad from his position. He points the gun at us again but another explosion hampers his aim. The shot punctures the wall behind us and we drop to the floor. Irina lands near the bathroom while I crash into the nightstand. My arm throbs in minor pain, I sit up and cough. Debris litters the room, the man is now standing and his gun is pointed directly at me. More gunshots ring out in the hall and a few more bullets lodge themselves into the opposite walls of the room. I stare at the man; his brown eyes don't seem to be looking at me...it feels like he's looking through me. He grins and laughs slowly.
