Chapter 5

***Addy's POV: 9pm***

I followed him quietly as we walked through the halls waiting for him to talk. Finally he rubbed the back of his head and cleared his throat.

"Well I guess I had better get talking", he asked as he cleared his throat again, "Look its as I said before, I don't want to drag you into my life's drama at all, but I also think you deserve an explanation. So, I guess let me explain my family. I come from a wealthy family. Our legacy is boxing, of course that's why both my sister, who you may know her name is Heidi Alexander, and I are here in this school. My father followed in his fathers footsteps and was the best boxer in the nation. My mother was the best in the state. My sister and I are just trying to live up to our families name. I have obviously made a lot of enemies because of my name and because I don't care what anyone thinks of me. I will tell everyone how it is, I don't see a point in beating around the bush. With all this being said, sometimes my enemies try and see if I'm upholding my name. This occasion was no different. I was out taking a walk, viewing the city one of my favorite things to do, when out of nowhere I was dragged into an alley. They hit me a couple times, hence the bruises and cut, but at the end of it all, I ended up hurting them badly, within inches of life and warned them not to fuck with me again. The reason I didn't tell Logan though is because these people are much worse than the rest, they are the second best in the state and nation. There kids also go here, you may know them, Tyler Sharp, and his brother, Jake Sharp."

This was a lot for me to take in. It's rather cool to find out that Jace comes from such a wealthy family, which I kind of already knew because of Spence. To find out he had enemies though just because of his families name is crazy. Then the last part of that story, the fact that Tyler Sharp, the very first person to talk to me here is his enemy? Tyler seemed like such a good guy. I guess that's why you can never judge someone by their cover. My mind was blown.

"I don't really know what to say. I thought Tyler was a cool guy. He helped me on the first day and everything. But I guess that's where you can't judge a book by its cover comes in. I'm very sorry that you have to deal with that", I said as we kept walking. We had made it to a garden around the back side of the school.

"It's not your fault. I'm going to be honest with you too. This may be some kind of shock to you, but I don't think I can stay away from you anymore, or try to push you away. I have been fighting myself to try to. That's why I yelled at you in the hallway, thinking maybe if I push you away I'll feel better. But I don't, and now that I've told you the truth, I can't. I've put you in a position to be hurt. I'd really like to get to know you more, if you would be okay with that?", he said as he looked at the ground rubbing the back of his neck.

"I don't know why I'm telling you this but I feel like I can trust you. I'd really love to get to know you better, and maybe you could stop staring at me now", I said as I laughed. I look over at him and see his cheeks get a tint of red on them, "I'm just playing, I don't mind if you do"

He laughed and shook his head. "Whatever you say"

"I do need to be getting back to my dorm now though, I'd like to shower and relax, maybe watch some movies", I said as I looked at him with a smile

"Okay, yeah of course, but um first do you think I could maybe get your phone number?", he asked as he looked down and kicked at a small pebble on the ground.

"Sure, let me see your phone", I said as he pulled his phone out and handed it to me. I quickly typed my number in and gave it back to him, "Should we get headed back to our dorms now"

"Oh, yeah", he said as he laughed, showing me a smile and started walking toward the dorms, I walked next to him with a huge smile on my face.

Sorry its such a short chapter! I just think it of it as a cute little filler chapter, with a few important details :)
