I can't feel anything.
I fell to my knees a minute ago and I already can't feel a thing, is it how it feels? I thought it'll hurt like hell and blood would be everywhere by now...how weird.

I can feel my heart pounding in my chest though, and I'm starting to hear my own screaming that came right after the gun was shot, which reminds me I should do something...
Should I keep screaming? Can Ruth even hear me from here? Or maybe I should come up with something else, real quick.

As I snapped out of the shock, I tried moving my whimpering body off the ground and standing up, which thankfully worked.
Next, I wanted to take a look at the bastard who shot me, because if I die; I can at least curse the face that killed me. I turned my still-shaking body toward where I think the sound of the gun came from, ready to face the bastard that shot Me.

"AHHH! AHH!! o-oh my god...OH my god!
I HAVE BEEN SHOT! RUTH! SOMEBODY! HELP!! MY GOD—-" As I turned to face the shooter, I kept screaming hoping someone would come to my aid or at least find my body.

"Identity yourself!!"

I heard someone shout back at me, it came from the same direction as the gunshot and it took a hot minute to find it. I lifted my eyes off my body after failing to spot the wound and looked toward the voice calling, I can see someone standing there but the darkness makes it difficult to see any features, I can only tell it was a man; a man with a rifle which is the probably the one that shot Me. Before I can say anything else, or act fast; which I should've probably made a run for it by now, the man spoke again.

"I said identify yourself!! And you are not shot, I did not shoot at you!"

Bullshit, I thought.
"WHAT WAS THAT...EDITH!? WHERE ARE YOU!? EDITH!!"
I heard someone shout, it was Ruth.

"R-RUTH!! IM OVER HERE!! I HAVE BEEN SHOT!! CALL THE COPS!!" I shouted back as kept my attention on the man, who started stepping toward me slowly.

"God damn it, I said I didn't shoot at you, calm down I thought you were a coyote—-"

With every step he took toward me, I took a step back.
"S-STAY BACK!! Stay the f-fuck back!! Oh my god— RUTH HELP!!" I screamed.
"A-are you CRAZY!? do I look like a coyote to you!! You crazy son of a——-"

"Hey, everything's alright over there?"

Another voice was heard, it came from behind the man and I saw him shift and turn, and it came to me that If I wanted to get out of there, it should probably be now.
So I turned as well to the other direction, and bolted out of there with all the adrenaline rushing in Me.

"Yeah, it's just a— stop! Wait!—"

I heard the bastard with the gun yell something, but I told myself I shouldn't stop until I was far away enough from him, and I kept praying he doesn't start shooting at me; if he does, then I hope his aim in this darkness is as good as a blind dead man.

The run back was faster than I thought, in a short time I was out of the neighbor's property and into mine, and I can see Ruth clearly running around the house in a panic. She spotted me right away and came running toward me.

"W-WHAT HAPPENED!? WHERE WERE YOU?! oh lord- are you alright!?" She yelled concerned and confused. She took me in her arms right away after I reach her, and I just started bowling my eyes out.
