As Jack woke up at 6:30, he went downstairs and made some coffee for him and his mom. As he sat by the window looking at the street, he sighed in contempt, "Back to School, A.K.A Hell." As his mom came downstairs and got her a cup of coffee, she looked to her son, worried he will be angry all his life. "Jack, try to make some friends today, ok?"

Inside Jack wanted to scoff and remind her that that's not what school is for, but instead he said "I'll try, but no guarantees." That was enough for Mindy. "Ok Jack, and Jack, try not to get into a fight on the first day of school." Both mother and son chuckled, as they was use to Jack getting suspended from School for fighting. "No promises mom."  Again Mindy was satisfied with Jack's answer.

5 minutes later

As Jack stood outside waiting for the bus, he saw someone down the street, a orange body and purple accents. Jack thought long and hard, but he couldn't help but feel Deja Vu, as that guy looks pretty familiar. But before he could go talk to him, the bus arrived and he had to hop on or walk to school, "Can't be late, not on the first day." He hate Mondays, luckily today was Wednesday.

20 Minutes later

As Jack hopped off the bus, he sighed and walked into ZPA. While walking in the building he looked at the big headstone in the arch of the entrance and chuckled as he thought to himself, 'Jeez, I can't help staring at this thing, it's a work of art.' When he made it to his first class, he sat down next to Vanexa, "Hello Jack." He nodded, noticing she didn't even look up from her book, "Hello Vanexa. Quiet Summer?" She nodded, as she didn't speak a lot.

He looked around and saw a new girl with long black hair, big grey sweater, and her bottom half of her face hidden in the sweaters turtleneck. "New girl?" Another nod, "She just moved in from San Francisco. She already had a run-in with Ruben." I groan, possibly too loud, "Mr. Wells! Are you wanting to solve this equation?" He shook his head, he didn't like math, he was good at it, but he disliked it. "No Ma'am." Ms. Heech scoffed, "Then keep your damn trap shut! Arrogant teenagers, think you know every-damn-thing."

Ms. Heech, the only teacher besides Carrie who is allowed to cuss Infront of the students, but only because the students are afraid to rat her out, her and Carrie both. Jack nodded, "Yes Ms. Heech." And he spoke under his breath, "Fuckin' bitch." As they went through the class, Jack whispered to Vanexa, " Vex," He used his pet name for her, and she smiled a bit, "Yea Jackson?" And she used his proper name, and he smiles, her own pet name for him.

"What else about the new girl? Should I deal with Rusty?" Practically grinning, she nods. "Jackson, why is it when you use that pet name you got for me it makes me smile?" Before he went back to studying, he chuckled, "Cause you have a crush on me, right?" She didn't deny it, she did, since she didn't meet Spam as Spam was Zill's friend, and Jack didn't meet Zill.

After class, Rusty was picking on some freshmen, so Jack walked up behind Rusty and motioned for them to leave, which they did to the discontent of Rusty, "Where you going, bunch of soft assed-" He stopped as he turned around and saw Jack with his arms crossed, "I heard you were picking on the new girl." With a scoff, Rusty went to walk by him, but Jack grabbed him by the nap of the neck, "Listen you son of a bitch, if you pick on anyone else for the week, I'll send you to the E.R, or better yet, the ICU! Got it?"

Cowardly, Rusty nodded, it happened before, and he didn't want to relive that incident, much less have it escalate from E.R. to ICU. "Now beat it Ruben!" And like a coward, he scampered away. "Bitch." As Jack walked to his next class, he saw the new girl looking at him from a distance, and it was hard to see, but he knows she was smiling. So, he smiled back, gave the slightest of mods, and went on his way.

Later through the day, Jack was eating his lunch in the hall, sitting on the floor, Vanexa beside him. "So, I hear that one of the more popular girls, Kayla, is getting the leading role of some play again this year." Jack nodded, he saw how Kayla preformed, and she was a natural, but he isn't interested in Acting. "Why, was you going to try and steal that role from her?" She nodded, "I thought about it."

He chuckled lightly, "Why? Your so quiet usually, what's gotten into you?" She didn't speak, she turned her head away as she was blushing, the Play being a Romantic one. "I thought I'd try and get you to try something new."  He nodded, she cared for him, but he was oblivious to her crush on him.

Later, close to the end of the school day, Jack and Vanexa walked together to the bus, "Jack, what would you say to someone you care about?" He raised a eyebrow, and thought, "Like a friend, or more?" She smiled a bit, "More, Jackson, More." She used her pet name for him again, and he thought hard, "I don't know, I guess I'd tell them the truth, that I was in love with them." She smiled a bit as they reached the exit, "Ok, Hypothetical question, what would you do if I said I was in love with you?"

He shrugged, "Dunno." She sighed, she was trying so hard to get him to notice, but he knows she loves him, but he was trying his best to not lose the one friend he had if it went bad. "Anyway, I better get going, mom will probably throw a fit if I show up late again." Vanexa nodded, she knew how Molly was, scared for her son. "Ok, and, Jack, 'Dunno' is not a answer." He chuckled as he walked away, "Well, maybe someday I'll change my answer!" She smiled a bit, she had a bit of hope there.
