Jay knocked on Hailey's apartment door."Hey, man, what's up? It's late," she opened the door wider for him to walk in.
"I uh, just put in my resignation," Jay blurted out.
"What?" Hailey asked shocked.
"Me and Averie have been avoiding the conversation for so long and I just can't be here while they're there. I mean everywhere I look it's like memories of the two of them and I can't live somewhere they're not. I'm losing my mind. And after today- it- I can't let it go on," Jay shook his head.
"So that's it. I'm losing my partner to Boston?" she asked sadly. "I mean- do you even have a job there?"
"I know some people up there. And Lexi said she could easily get me a spot at the FBI field office there. But I was thinking about taking a break, just to be home with my family and spend all the time I can with them."
Hailey nodded understandingly.
"I'm gonna miss you, you big oaf," she pulled him in for a hug.
"I'll miss you too Hails."

"So why are you in my apartment in the middle of the night?" Ivy asked, handing him a glass of water and sitting next to him on the couch.
"I need to talk to you," he said softly, leaning forward to place the cup on the table.
Ivy paused for a moment. "You're going to Boston aren't you?"
"How'd you know?"
"You're my big brother. I've been watching you my whole life. I knew it was just a matter of time," she forced her eyes infront of her so he couldn't see the tears forming. "I just wish you didn't have to."
But he saw the shine in her eyes. He pulled her into his side, holding her tightly, "You'll be okay, Ives. I know it."
"But it seems like we all just got back together and now you're leaving again," she said.
"Ivy, I'm going to Boston, not Afganistan. It's only a two hour flight from here to there. Plus you'll have Will here too," He pressed a kiss to her head.
"What time do you leave?" she asked.
"I have a flight out tomorrow. I already turned in my resignation."
"I'll take you to the airport," she whispered.
"Ivy, you don't-"
"I want to," she sunk her head deeper in his chest.
"Okay," he agreed.
"Can you stay here tonight? Like when I was five and it was storming and the two of you would make us have a slumber party?" she asked softly.
Jay held her tighter, "Of course, V."
"Thanks Jay-Jay."
They fell asleep there, just like it was 1996 again.
