Utahime falls into a long coma after she sacrificed her life to protect Gojo against Sukuna

"Since you requested a leave on Utahime-san's birthday, I have found someone else for the mission"
"Let me guess. Is it Yuji?"
Ijichi nods. "He offers himself to go. Is there a problem, Gojo-san?"
"Nuh uh, he can go. That kid is strong"
"Then I will proceed", Ijichi takes the files, ready to leave. "Oh anyway, Ieiri-san is coming back from the US next month"
"Really? I thought she went for a 3-year course"
"It will be 3 years since she departed this Sunday. It is about time for her to return"
"Ah, really? Has it been that long?", Gojo chuckles at his own silliness. Has he become forgetful now that he is old? "Thank you, Ijichi"
"No problem, Gojo-san. Let me know if you need anything else"

"I am expecting you to welcome me with a huge banner at the airport"
Gojo clicks his tongue. "Don't be dramatic, Shoko. I know Suguru has safely landed in the US to fetch you"
He can hear Shoko scoffs followed with Geto's laughter in the back
Kling!
The bell rings as Gojo pushes the door. The florist welcomes him with a smile. Gojo hands a note to her and she understands what she has to do right away
"I feel like an asshole for this but- how is Utahime-senpai doing?", her intonation changes, sounds guilty
"She is doing okay, Shoko. Why are you calling yourself that? Utahime would be happy to know you actually earned your certificate without cheating this time"
Shoko chuckles and sniffles at the same time. "Still no sign she would wake up?"
No answer from Gojo means no
"It has been three years, though"
"I will take care of her here, Shoko. Just come to visit Utahime once you are back"
"I definitely will, dummy!", still sniffling. "Keep her safe and well taken care of until Geto and I come back"
Beep!
Their call ends a little while after. Just in time, the florist comes back holding a bouquet of red peonies
"The flowers you asked for"
"Thank you", he pays and leaves the shop
Iyashi Hospice & Care
Gojo paces down the corridor towards Utahime's room at the end of the hallway. Then he sees a familiar face coming out of her room
"Megumi!", Gojo greets happily. "You come alone?"
Megumi shakes his head. "Tsumiki is inside. She will wash her (Utahime-sensei) up and change her clothes"
