"I love you"

Utahime says at her own reflection inside the long mirror in her office room. She has been standing at the corner for about 30 minutes, practicing her love confession

"That's very awkward", she scratches her nape

Utahime inhales a deep breath before she tries one more time

"Gojo, I love you"

Silence.....

"Ah, damn it!", Utahime smacks her forehead

All her attempts were bound to fail. At first she sounded like a robot, then she looked insincere, stiff, awkward, too straightforward, everything didn't seem right. Love is never her forte

Utahime walks back to her desk, sitting down

She takes a quick glance at the calendar next to the computer. 24th December was circled with black marker, and it is only two weeks away

"Or I just shouldn't say anything to him", she sighs

Perhaps that is the only right thing to do. Her confession will only distract Gojo during this crucial time. Even at this moment as we speak, Gojo is giving his all in the special training in order to claim his win against Sukuna. He really wants to win, everyone is counting on him to, including Utahime

Gojo had not come to see Utahime that often anymore. Not that he doesn't want to, but the training has been taking up his time, a lot of time. Utahime doesn't mind. She doesn't want to make herself the center of his trajectory when Gojo has a bigger responsibility to serve

However sometimes, Utahime would ponder. Sometimes, Utahime wanted to become greedy, thinking that she is his responsibility too. But just as much, Utahime wants to be more understanding of him, and not to make things harder for Gojo, or at least she tries to by putting up a lot of restrictions on herself

Utahime doesn't even bother to call or text first, not wanting to pressure him. So Gojo would be the one reaching out to Utahime first, only when he had the time. And their last conversation was a little 7 days ago

And now Utahime misses him, while wondering if Gojo feels the same too

KNOCK! KNOCK!

Utahime nearly bounces when someone knocks on her door. It would be lying if she didn't immediately think of Gojo when she hears that. But when the door flings open, Utahime's hope comes crashing as the one standing at her door is far from Gojo, but rather his colleague, Akari Nitta

"Are you not leaving, Utahime-san? It's already pass 6", Nitta points at the clock

Utahime kindly shakes her head. "Not yet. I will leave once I finished this report", she waves the papers in her hand

"Do you want me to wait until you are done? I can drop you off after this", she offers

Utahime replies with a smile. "Thanks for the offer. But I'd prefer to not cause anyone inconvenience"

"It is not, Utahime-san"

"Nitta-san", a pause. "I know Gojo asked you to look after me, that is why you come down to Kyoto every week"

Nitta looks down to the floor as if she was just caught doing something wrong

"I am very thankful that you took his order despite it's not from the officials. But I'd rather to have Gojo to do it in person if he ever wanted to know how I am doing. I hope you understand what I mean"
