Weird Barbie

In a world where Barbies can be anything, someone had to be scribbled on with markers.

Weird Barbie.

No one really knew who she had been originally, but that didn't really matter anymore. Not now that she had been given an uneven haircut with little-kid scissors and new makeup with a marker.

Relatively hidden away, subject to a fate no one else in BarbieLand would want, she had a surprisingly okay life. It wasn't great, of course, but it wasn't miserable.

And she did have company. The quickly discontinued Barbies and Kens may have been flops, but at least they were interesting. Though the one with the camera could be a little uncomfortable. (You never could quite tell when she was recording.)

Was there a bit of hypocracy in designating one of the Barbies as "Weird Barbie" when BarbieLand was supposed to be a great place for every Barbie? Yeah, but don't think too much about that. And besides, Weird Barbie did have her place. She played a very important (though not very recognized) role for the other Barbies, fixing them when they malfunctioned.

Okay, so maybe things could be better. Maybe Weird Barbie could get a little more appreciation every once in a while. Was that really too much to ask?

Actually, maybe. Especially since her only distinction from the other Barbies was the word "weird" in front of her name. (And that unfortunate makeover.)
