And there he was, almost ten years later, about to meet her again, this time on her territory.

Walking into the meeting room Mia realized the gorgeous and tall stranger from the elevator was the main man here. He looked menacing even with a smile on his face. His brown locks neatly styled back and his green eyes filled with mischief, this wasn't anyone she had met before or who had booked a meeting with her. The three other men stood around the room as if keeping guard, one by the door.

"Good afternoon, I apologize for being late to our meeting but I had no idea we had one booked Mr. uh...?"

Mia started the conversation professionally but with a dose of caution. She decided to completely ignore that they were in the elevator together. No need to make things even more awkward than they were.

"Kirill. You can call me Kirill." And he paused savouring the look of confusion on her face. She was clearly trying to piece together who he was but coming up short.

"I think your receptionist lady didn't give you the message? She seemed surprised I was here. I was clear on the phone about who I wanted to meet and when...but I guess we briefly met in the elevator." Kirill ended with a slightly devilish smile slowly appearing on his face once more.

Seeing her again, ten years later, at a place like this, gave him shivers inside. He remembered their kiss so well and the memory of it kept him alive in his darkest and most difficult moments. But now, he enjoyed seeing her look confused and on edge. He was a man with a dark past and he wanted to play before revealing to her who he was.

"Okay, well, again, my apologies, we take great pride in making sure our clients are well taken care of. What can I help you with, Kirill?"

Hearing her say his name was like having honey poured all over him. He briefly closed his eyes and smiled. Such a sweet girl, calling him by his first name.

"Do you speak Russian? You said my name so well." He teased.

"I don't speak it anymore unfortunately." Mia responded kindly "I studied it about ten years ago but I have no practice. I can still pronounce it well of course. Are you Russian?" Mia innocently asked.

"Yes." Kirill responded slowly. A sudden silence fell between them. Mia was a great broker, she knew how to lead and control the conversation but this time she was out of her element and completely blindsided. Kirill continued on, he was in control here.

"Anyway. I come to you because I need to buy penthouse here in New York and you come highly recommended. My budget is 15 million to unlimited and I need to move in by end of month. All cash."

Holy shit. This is some shit they write about in the news.

"Okay...those are extremely tight deadlines, Kirill. Do you have any wiggle room with your move in date? As well, that's a huge sum of money to pay all cash for, you will have to sign off on legal papers with our office about the source of the money." Mia stated.

"The source of money doesn't concern anyone here. I come from Russia, I have business there, it does well, I want to spend it on real estate, end of story." He spoke coldly and almost disrespectfully. He caught himself in time and added "But yes, I can move a little later. I just want a place soon."

Mia was floored. Her highest deal was 6.5 million a year ago and she always wanted high bank clients but this was something out of a murder story. Random hunky Russian wants to buy a New York penthouse with money he can't explain. Seems legit. Quickly composing herself she said,

"Alright, I understand. I am clearly not prepared for this meeting as I did not know it was happening. We can do a buyer consult now or you can come back later this week and I can get started, what would you prefer?" Mia responded placing her sweaty palms on her thighs.
