THE BATTLE OF DRAGONS: Auryn and the fate of Nagendra

' I think the queen is on you,' I say when Auryn finishes.

' You think?' Auryn says sarcastic. I was so loyal to the queen, supporting her every desicion. She made the white side strong, stronger than the blackside. Even our neighbours Nox, Kalovax and Luxoria are scared. But if she wants to hurt Auryn, then she doesn't deserve my loyalty.

' You leave tommorow Auryn, are you ready?'

'I'm always ready, Matteo. But I don't want to do anything for the queen. I may be a dragonprotector but I don't know anything about it, and my beloved necklace is gone.' her hand goes to her chest. Iv'e seen her do that a lot after the necklace was stolen by a Blacksider. We may not like the queen, but our hate for the blacksiders will never go. They try to steal our dragons, or plunder everything.

' And the spy has escaped.' I offer Auryn the bread I brought for the spy. She eats all of it. You can see that she didn't eat that much today.

' I'm going to find Scarr, and let Sarnai eat him.'

' Is his name Scarr?'

'No, I named him Scarr because of his scarr on his cheeck.' then she drinks the water I brought too. ' I should be packing my stuff.' She stands up and goes to her closet.

' I'll bring some food for you,' I say and leave.

Keira is eating with my father at the table.
' Work begins after an hour,son.'
' I know, I'm going to pack some food up for Auryn, she leaves tomorrow.'
'Tomorrow? Can't she visit us for the last time?' Keira asks. She has a special bond with Auryn. She is like a big sister she never had.
' It's already dark, she needs to rest for tomorrow.'  I wish I could go with her. I have the feeling that I need to be by her side. But Auryn is strong, she doesn't need me.
'Let us help, son.' My father stands up and my sister follows him. They search for the best food they can find. I also join them.
' No need to be sad, son. She is brave and strong. She will be back.'
' I know that, father. It's just... she has a lot on her mind.' Keira hands me two apples and dried meat. We stuff all the food we can find in a cloth and bind it together.
'Tell Auryn that I'll miss her,' says Keira.
'You can tell it herself tomorrow morning when she leaves.' Then I leave.
It is cold outside, i should have bring a jacket. Suddenly I think about the last few days. So much has happend to her. Some crazy things happend. The queen sent Auryn to a dangerous mission, her necklace was stolen by a Darksider, the queen killed the king and no one knows yet. I wonder how the queen will look like on his funeral. And we caught Scarr spying on Auryn.
I'm getting closer to the castle and the people around me are whispering about something. Then I hear the words "king" and "died". Mighty dragons, what did I miss in twenty minutes? The queen must have announced it. But obviously, she lied about the reason of death, because I hear people saying that he died of a heart attack . Mighty dragons I used to adore her, what happend to queen Rexanne? I rush into the castle. And go the knight hall, where Auryn's room is. I see knights in the hall, talking about king Dryston's death. I see Auryn too, but she stays in front of her door talking with no one.
'What did I miss?' I ask Auryn, who is opens the door and quickly closes it.
'The queen went to her big dragonass balcony and announced the death of our beloved king Dryston.' Auryn looks annoyed and stressed. A part of me says that she's happy to leave, leaving this madness behind.
'Well, then you are sadly going to miss the funeral.'
' Yeah, sadly.' She grabs to cloth filled with food and smells it. ' I can eat this now already. Thank you so much, Matteo.'
'Anything for you, Ryn Ryn.'
'Mighty dragons stop using that old nickname.' We go sit down on her bed. I decide to lay down. Her pillows are the softest things on earth.
' Haven't the other knights say anything? A good luck or something?' I ask.
' Some of them, but I don't need their luck' she answers absent.
' Do they even know that you're going to Nagendra?' The fact that Auryn will go to the queen of the dragons brings chills down my spine. I wish I had Auryn's bravery.
' No, they think i'm going to kill some dangerous blacksiders. They are smart, aren't they?' Auryn giggles. I start to laugh too. ' Yes they are,' I answer. Then I realize it's time for my night shift. Auryn realizes it too, because she stands up and gives me her hand to help me stand up. ' I can still take a nap on your bed after work, right?'
' You can even live here if you want, although it won't be pleasant, I can still smell Scarr.' We both start to laugh. Then I hug her. We hug for a while, then I say: ' I'll come tomorrow morning with my family to see you for the last time.'
' You act like I'm never coming back, Matteo. I'm leaving very early.'
'Anything for you, Ryn Ryn,' I tease her.
' You-' She can't finish her sentence , because I already ran towards the door. ' Have a great night, Auryn,' I say quickly at the doorway.'
'You too...' she almost whispers
