I heard the obnoxious noise of the alarm clock and groaned loudly, not wanting to go home. Mom is going to be super pissed off at me because I snuck out of the house.

"Ashley," I said, but it came out muffled because my face was stuffed into the pillow. "Turn it off."

"Nooo. We have to get ready for school, and I have to walk you home." The little bad part of my brain internally cursed at her. Dang it, I was hoping she had forgotten about that.

"I don't wanna go home. My mom's gonna disown me because I left there without her permission."

"Don't worry, she won't do anything to you. Just tell her accidentally fell asleep at my house."

"Okay but if anything happens I'm coming straight back here." She laughed lightly before getting out of her bed and walking over to mine.

"Now come on, it's time for you to get your lazy ass up and face the world. We can do this the easy way or the hard way." I shook my head and pulled the covers over my head.

'Yeah like that's going to protect you at all.'

"I'm guessing the hard way then." She ripped the covers from off of me and grabbed me, dragging me out of the bed and onto the hard floor with a big thud. I hot my head on the floor so that's never good.

"Oww!! That hurt worse than a slap from Lucifer!"

"How would you know what that feels like." She asked with a small smirk in her face.

"I don't know, I've never said anything like that before. Or at least I don't think I have."

"That's strange, but still we need to get you back to your house so let's go." She held out her hand for me but instead of getting up, I pulled her down and got up myself. I laughed and ran out of the room, her running after me.

She ended up catching me and tackled me. We both hit the floor with a loud bang and laughed loudly.

"Girls! What are you doing?" Her mother asked from the kitchen. You could tell she wasn't mad because of the smile on her face.

"Oh nothing. Just attacking each other that's all." Ashley replied like it was the most casual thing in the world.

"Well hurry up and get ready we have to take Lyric home in a minute." I sighed quietly and stood up, helping Ashley up with me.

"Don't worry mom I'll just walk her home now," She called out. "But first we have to get your clothes."

"Yeah, I'll go change really quickly."

"Oh you can keep those if you want to. I don't wear them anymore so you can have them."

"Really?" She nodded. "Are you sure? I mean come on they could be worth some money later on." She laughed and shook her head.

"Let's just get your clothes ya dork." We walked back up the stairs and back to her room to retrieve my clothes. We walked back down and went into the kitchen for a moment.

"I'll be back in a couple of minutes." She hugged her mom before walking out the door with me.

The walk there was mostly silent, aside from the cars and animals. We were about a block away from my house, where it was just in view, before I stopped walking.

"You okay?" Ashley asked. I shook my head at her. "What's wrong then?" She walked in front of me in a way that blocked the house.

"I'm just scared she's gonna hurt me like she hurt Michael. He had a busted lip and a huge black eye, I just don't want that to happen to me or him if she gets mad at him." I rubbed my arm nervously.
