"Callie"
"Callie" I feel someone poke me. There he goes with the poking again.
"Call—"
"Josh, unless you want me to break your finger I suggest you stop doing that," I rub my eyes and turn in my seat to look at him.
"Just wanted to tell you we are at your house," He said while holding his hands up in surrender.
I looked out the window and sure enough we were parked in front of my house. "Did you already drop off Garret, Jason, and Jared?" I looked to the drivers seat. "Where did Evan go?"
"Yes we already dropped off those three noobs and Evan went inside already," he said as he grabbed his bag and started to get out of the car.
Why didn't they want to come over? They always did after try-outs or practice. I run up to meet Josh by the door.
"And to answer your question because I know it's running through your blonde little head," he says as we walk inside, "They wanted to shower at their houses and then they will be over in a bit."
"Hey, my hair is dirty blonde, there's a difference," I cross my arms and pout at him.
He shrugs, "Tomato tomoto."
I hear the water running so that must mean Evan is already in the shower. Josh also runs off down the hallway so he must be getting in the downstairs one. Well I might as well shower now that they are busy. I grab my bags and head up to my room. I walk over to my balcony doors to let some air in.
And that's when I see her. A girl who looks about our age is in the house next door and in the room across from mine. I didn't even notice a moving van out front when we came in.
"Uh, hi," I call over to her. She jumps back and look sat me with a shocked impression. "Oh sorry I didn't mean to scare you!" I walk over to the railing.
She smiles at me and puts her hand down from being on her chest. "It's okay, I just didn't see you there." She extended her hand out to me, "I'm Casey."
I reached over the balcony to shake her hand, "Callie," I smile at her. "Oh sorry I'm so gross right now, I just got back from soccer try-outs," I give her a small smile as I realize I probably look terrible.
She laughed, "It's okay. I understand. I'm a dancer so I totally get the whole sweat thing," she put her hands up to quote "sweat". "I'm 16, going into the junior year at the high school. Are you?"
"Yea I'm 16 also and junior year," I smile at her. She seems pretty cool. And she's not a prissy girl so that's a good thing. "Not to be rude and cut this short, but I should probably go shower and clean up."
She waves her hand dismissively at me, "Don't worry about it. I have to finish unpacking anyways. I'll see you later?" I nod to her and then close my doors and the curtains.
I jump in the shower and wash all the dirt and grim off me. I also realized that I had just showered this morning and now I'm showering again. I dry off with my fluffy blue towel. I might not be a very girly—girl, but I like my fluffy towel. I use another towel to squeeze the extra water out of my hair. I walk back into my room and close the door since there are two very hormonal boys in my house. I check to make sure I closed the curtains to my balcony door. She may be a girl, but I just met her and I don't need her to see me naked. I drop my towel and that's when he decides to make an appearance.
"Yo Cal—" Is all Evan gets out of his mouth as he barges through my door before I scream and grab my towel to cover myself.
"Evan! There's this thing called knocking!!" I yell at him." He leans against my door frame smirking. I then realized he was shirtless and couldn't help myself from letting my eyes wander down to his wash board abs. I brought my eyes back up to his face and his eye brow raised up at me.
"Like what you see?" He brought his arms up and made that gun position all guys do. I couldn't help but laugh. His arms dropped as he started to walk over to me. Everything got silent. I stared at his face. His soft brown eyes were boring into mine. They had an expression I couldn't quite figure out. Admiration? Loving? Lust? He tightened his jaw which defined his jawline even more than usual. I gulped as I realized he was getting closer. I also realized I was naked under the towel I clutched around me and I hugged it tighter to my body. He was still about 2 meters away when I figured he should probably leave.
"Evan—," Was all I got out before he took two long strides to be right in front of me. He put his hand against my cheek and put his thumb over my lips. My thoughts got lost in his eyes as his other arm snaked it's way around my waist and brought me closer. I was very confused about what was happening. I scrunched up my face at him. He smiled and brought his lips down to my ear.
"I just wanted to say that you did a great job out on the field today. I have no doubt you will make varsity." His minty breath sent shivers down my spine. He brought his face so it was millimeters away from mine. "Also, you look really beautiful right now, in just this towel even though your hair looks like a rats nest." I feel my cheeks heat up and I lift my eyes to look into his. Definitely a love expression. But why? Maybe I'm over thinking this. He can't be into me. I'm the girl who's friends with all the boys. Who all the girls hate but she doesn't care.
I saw Evan's eyes flick down to my lips. "Eva—,"
"Hey Cal have you see—" a smirk grew on Josh's face as he saw us jump away from each other. "Evan." He finished as he just raised his eyebrows at us. I shifted uncomfortably as Evan rubbed his neck.
"R-right well as I said, good job today," Evan mumbled to me before walking out of my room. Josh wiggled his eyebrows at me and I slammed my room door in his face.
What the hell just happened?
