Our lessons on breathing continued the next day, I worked with Kiri on breathing, and she had already mastered it "You are really good," I say. She gives me a very soft smile "Thanks." Just as we were joking around and splashing each other Ao'nung walked up. "I need you to work with the oldest fr- newby" I glare at him due to the fact I knew what he was going to say. "Yeah, okay," I bid Kiri goodbye and head to Neteyam.
He waves at me, and once I get to him I sit next to him. "The way of water has no beginning and no end," I place my hand on the stomach and breathe deeply with him. I nod at him and slip into the sea, him following suit. I show him the shell he will be diving after. He gives me a nod and I throw the shell into the sea, he gives it a few seconds to fall then dives, I watch him from the surface, seeing him quickly catch up to the shell and grab it, he turns to me with a smile and he holds it up.
"I did it," he says as he holds his hand up, and with the shell in it. I grab his hand between my own. "You did! I'm so proud." his sweet smile showing off his canines. I let out a few yips and clicks as I call two ilu. "Let's go, I need to show you the gill mantle." I smile and rush onto my ilu, "C'mon slow poke!" I call out to him, he is quick behind me. Our ilus twirl around each other in the bioluminescent waters as we make our way to the gill mantle, to see that the others are already there "Hey, look" I sign, and he waves as we all waste time down with the gill mantle.
I watch as Kiri glides her hand around and the glowing fish follow her, like there in a trance. I find it stunning. Once I'm done admiring her I look around and see my mother signing to me "Noi'tey, come here, these are very useful." I slump knowing I will not be able to escape this
Once I'm able to get away from my mother's training I sit on the shore letting the waves reach my legs while my upper body lays on the sand "Back off fishlips" I hear yelling coming from the left of me, I decide to get up and head to the commotion. Only to see when I get there Lo'ak and Kiri being harassed by my brother of all people. I am ready to storm over to them Neteyam beats me to it. He shoves Au'nung forcing him to look at him "You heard what she said. Back. Off." He demands holding his finger in my brother's face. One of Ao'nung's friends tries to continue the harassment but he holds his arm in front of him, signaling for him to stop. "Now," Neteyam says as he pushes Ao'nung with his finger. Ao'nung scoffs softly and holds his hands up in submission "Smart choice. And from now on, I need you to respect my siblings. Like I do yours." the darker blue Navi says as he gets ready to turn around and leads his siblings back to the village. One of Ao'nung's friends is being cut off by my brother. "Buh-bye~" The same friend drags on "Look at them. The whole family are freaks"
Lo'ak seems to hear this and turns around. To be truthful, I hate Nung's friends, they're all dumbasses. "Yeah, you see this hand? I know, weird, right? But watch it can do something cool." Lo'ak says as he looks at Nung "First, I ball it up like this, then I-" He cuts himself off by decking Ao'nung in the face, then again, and again, till he's on the ground "It's called a punch bitch!" Lo'ak yells "Don't touch my sister again!" Ao'nung rushes to get up and him and all his friends hiss and snarl. Nung then runs to tackle Lo'ak as his friends cheer him on. Loak turns the tables and gets on top of Ao'nung until Rotxo pulls him by the tail. The three boys assault Lo'ak giving Ao'nung time to get up. One ended up smacking him in the face with his tail.
