I was sitting on a bench under the shade of a tree. Children nearby played on the playground.
It was the same place I had gone to a few months back to meet up with Add.
The summer breeze blew across my face, my hair floating in the wind.
The swings on the playground moved back and forth from the wind alone, nobody wanting to play on it.
I suddenly got the idea to go play on the swings, just like old times, and I could be a child without any fears and just dreams.
Swinging back and forth, I went up. And I went down. Then I went up. Then I went back down.
I heard the swing besides me being fumbled by someone else. I looked over.
"Ah, hey Eve! Long time no see, eh?"
"I didn't expect you to be here. Nice seeing you here again, Elsword."
The atmosphere was tense, until Elsword decided to break the ice.
"Hey...Eve..." I looked over at him, as he stopped swinging and lowered his head.
"Yes Elsword?"
"Do you remember...this spot?"
"Yes..."
"What we had...was there ever any truth behind it?"
"I can assure you...what we had...was real."
"So you really did love me..."
"Of course Elsword...I truly did love you back then." I sighed.
"But time changes us, and time is all too cruel." Elsword lifted his head up and gave me a weak smile. I smiled back, year beginning to form at my eyes.
"Sometimes," he began, "I wish things could go back like they used to be. Just me and you. I miss those days..." I turned away from Elsword, tears falling down my cheeks.
"The reason why we fall out of love...is the same reason why we fell in love...did you know this?" I heard Elsword chuckle, as I brushed away my tears.
"Now I do. Smart as always, Miss Eveline."
"Charming and witty as always, Mister Siegheart." I turned to face him.
"So how are things between you and Aisha?"
"Like you said, the reason we fall out of love is the reason why we fell in love the first place."
"So I see..." I frowned.
Seems like nothing worked out for us even after we broke up...
"Even though the breakup was kind of funny..." Elsword was grinning to himself.
"What was funny?" I tilted my head in confusion.
"When I brought Aisha aside to tell her that I fell out of love with her, it seemed she had the same idea in mind too."
"Eh? For real?" My eyes widened in surprised.
"I found out that Aisha was lesbian." I choked on my own salvia, as I coughed and gasped to catch my breath. Elsword continued, laughing a bit at my little episode.
"She began to find out when she started seeing women as attractive. She even told me her weird stories of how it led to her coming out."
"Wow...I'm speechless. I never saw this coming. I'm really sorry this happened to you Elsword. Really."
"Hahaha, it's nothing. I'm just happy that she's off with someone else who can make her happy. Can't always stay in the past, can we?" Elsword waved his hand as if it was no big deal.
I was stunned. I never expected him to say that. Elsword of all people. He's really grown up since then.
"Time changes us all I guess." I couldn't help smiling.
"Hey...Eve."
"Yes Elsword?"
"I have one more thing to ask of you. May I?"
"Sure."
"Close your eyes for a moment. And don't open them until I say so." Elsword fidgeted for a bit. I rolled my eyes as smiled.
"Yeah yeah. Got it." I closed my eyes.
Suddenly, I felt a light pressure on my lips. I opened my eyes in surprise.
"W-W-What are doing?!" I stumbled back, falling over the swing. Elsword smirked.
"Finding one last closure before I move on."
Elsword got up from his swing and waved goodbye, a huge goofy grin plastered on his face. I laid in sand still startled by what had just happened.
"Elsword you idiot!" I shouted back at him as loud as I could. But Elsword was already gone.
