I sat alone on the park bench, looking around for him.
Nearby, children singed nursery rhymes and played on the playground. No sight of him...yet.
Suddenly, a purple ball came bouncing my way. I picked it up with caution, unsure of what to do with it. I heard footsteps nearing closer to me.
I looked up, where a little girl with short hair and a dress with flowers over it was standing in front of me.
"Can I help you?" The little girl nodded, then pointed to the ball.
"Here." I handed her the ball, then gave her a warm smile. She smiled back at me. All of a sudden, she grabbed my handed and began to drag me towards the playground.
"Ah--Where are we going!?" I called out to her, but she didn't respond. She kept going.
The next moment I knew, I was at the playground, playing monkey-in-the-middle with a group of children. Of course, I became the monkey, as little kids ran past me and secretly passed the ball to one another.
Giggling, smiling, laughing, I soon lost myself to these emotions.
"Kek...Queen of Cold is laughing? I must record this for my data!"
I turned around to face the owner of the voice. It was none other than Add himself.
"Mr. Kim, it is very pleasant to see you here again. I did not expect this to happen." I stood up and brushed myself off, as if I was trying to get rid of the evidence. And maybe I was?
The girl from earlier tugged at my sleeve. I couldn't help but bend down to give her a hug.
"Thank you for letting me play with you guys. I had a lot of fun!"
Ah, why did I have to exclaim that last comment. How embarrassing.
"Take care big sister!" The little girl waved at me before she took off. I smiled to myself.
Maybe I do want to have a couple of kids when I marry off into another family. I do hope father will provide me well with the right suitors...
"Oh, so now you're a grandma now? Congratulations, mom," Add called back to me sarcastically, snapping me out of my daydreams.
I marched up to him, a pout on my face.
"Oh you shush! Don't tell anyone this!" I stomped my foot, the thought of everybody finding out how I was really like...
How embarrassing...
Suddenly, I felt a hand patting my head. I looked up to see Add's expression, but his head was turned away from me.
I felt a surge of courage within me to ask that one question I always wanted to ask awhile back.
"Hey, Add..."
"Yes?" He replied without turning to look at me.
"Do you like anybody from school?" My voice was small, and I wanted to pass out right there to avoid any disappoint and sadness ahead of something were to go wrong.
Add stopped patting my head, then turned to face me, keeping a blank expression. Suddenly, he grabbed by shoulders and hugged me tightly. I didn't know how to respond.
"A-Add? Are you okay?" My cheeks began to burn up, as I bit on my lip nervously.
"I'm...fine. I just want you to know..." His voice faded as he mumbled a few words I couldn't make out.
"What?" I tilted my head, a bit confused now.
"Nothing...just want you to know that I'll always be by your side to support you..."
"T-Thank you Add...for everything." I felt almost as if my heart was soaring through the sky. I closed my eyes, then remembered what I had asked earlier.
"Waaaaaiiiiiit...you didn't answer my question from earlier. Did you just avoid it?"
"Maybe." Add mumbled.
"So do you like anyone?" I pressed him harder for more information.
"Maybe." He replied, laying his head on my shoulder.
"Are you emo?"
"No. Never in a million years."
