A few weeks ago... she had been endlessly working on one report. Her hand hurried to write every note with a pen and scrambled to even make sense of the messy writing. The rain poured outside and pattered against the glass window as thunder rumbled in the storm. How boring it was to read the same thing all over again...

Ring. The doorbell rang as Seraphina lifted her head from the desk to sleepily look up and check where it was coming from. Hesitantly peering through the peephole, she wasn't sure if she should even answer it. Leon had been gone for a while and he had always advised her to not answer the door alone. Her eyes narrowed on the figure outside.

Leon had rain dripping through his hair.

Opening the door immediately, a look of shock and worry crossed her face. Water dripped from his hair and stuck to his clothes. His chest slowly rose up and down as if his breath became labored from running. Leon had a few scratches on himself and soot caked onto his skin. No blood or any other wounds.

"Hey..."

"I thought you were still on your mission—forget that...come inside," Seraphina shook her head before falling heavy arms wrap around her shoulders and she let out a soft gasp. Despite the cold rain pouring down, his body radiated a warmth and his face was close to her neck. A rosy blush stained her cheeks. "You're soaked. Hurry up and change."

"No. Just gonna stay right here."

Love always threw her in a bind. Not even the rain water soaking her shoulder could make Seraphina push Leon off. Seeing him right in person after weeks of being alone overwhelmed her with a feeling of relief. If she wasn't on the mission with him, how could she know if he was going to be safe or not?

"Leon..."

...

An eerie dread seemed to be crawling along the sewer tunnels. Jill and Leon bent down on their knees to make their way down, shining their flashlight against the walls. Alcatraz had a complex weave of places running underneath the prison. Sewers weren't unfamiliar to the pair but the space between them continued to stretch into the distance.

"What's in these tunnels?" Jill asked.

"It's to move munitions, back when Alcatraz was a military fortress." Leon explained as they got further down the tunnel, the sounds of their breathing echoing against the walls. Their closeness was becoming a bit too claustrophobic.

"Thanks for the history lesson," Jill joked, making the both of them laugh and earning a rare smile from her. There was enough space to move around their bodies, at least. "Why are you here?"
