Chapter One: The Cafe *ೃ༄

      Kunikida had just gotten off his shift from working at the detective agency. There was always this cafe he enjoyed going to after work or during breaks. Today he felt exhausted since he had just finished going on a mission with Dazai.

He wanted to relax and enjoy sometime alone. So obviously, he drove to his favorite cafe place. When he got there it was pretty late not that many people. The cafe was always open 24 Hours except on Sundays. He always dreaded that since he'd always have around an hour in the cafe on Sundays before they closed. Luckily, today was Thursday so he got to spent as much time as he wanted in the cafe

"Hello Mr.Kunikida! Welcome back!" Said one of the many workers that recognized him due to the fact that he was a regular for over a year now. "The usual?!" smiled the young woman at him cheerfully.

"Yes. Thank you very much!" Replied back Kunikida as he was taking a seat in a small booth. He took his seat and pulled out his notebook to go over it.

He quickly glanced up when a woman around his age pulled up to his table.

"One hot Caffe Americano?!" said the woman. She had a soft velvety voice. One he had never heard before.

He quickly glanced at the woman to see who the voice belonged to. He examined her a noticed that she had to be new there since he'd never seen her before in his year of going there. Don't get him wrong he's not a man to fall in love at first sight but the woman was gorgeous. He found that she looked familiar.

"Umm...Sir?"

"Oh. I'm sorry excuse me, I just got distracted." He said snapping out it. "Thank you.". He said sternly pushing up his glasses taking the cup of coffee.

"Of course! You're welcome!!" She said smiling  peacefully.

Kunikida thought about where he might've recognized this woman. He didn't take it anymore into more consideration and just continued drinking his coffee jotting down notes in his notebook.

After a while he had finished his drink he started collecting his stuff to head out. He made his way out to the door when he heard the woman again.

"Have a goodnight! Come back again soon!" said the woman cheerily yet so calmly.

"You as well ma'am." replied Kunikida earnestly glaring at her softly.

He slowly made his way to his car unlocking it. He couldn't wait to go home. Since he knew he had to work tomorrow and wanted to get a goodnights rest in.

He swiftly drove home feeling pretty drowsy from work and his recent missions. He got home pretty quickly. He unlocked his door and came in setting down his stuff neatly locking his door back up. He got unready taking a shower doing his night routine and putting on clean set of pjs. He got to bed rapidly just wanting to finally rest. If there was one thing Kunikida always looked forward to was going to bed at the end of his day.

Time skip-

It had been 20 minutes after he got into bed and Kunikida found himself lying on his bed staring at the ceiling. He couldn't sleep. He kept thinking about the woman from the cafe. He had never thought about a stranger that much. He surely felt like he knew her from somewhere out couldn't place his finger on it.

It wasn't like he had a crush on her, he had just met her. But still he just couldn't get her out of his head.

Kunikida ended up going to sleep later than his normal schedule.

The Next Morning-

Kunikida woke up feeling a bit drowsy due to the fact he was pondering about that woman all night. He quickly did his morning routine and headed out at the time he planned for the day. He calmly drove to the agency.

"Hey Kunikida~~!!!" said Dazai jokingly as always.

Kunikida sighed harshly. "Don't you think it's a little too early to be joking like this?" groaned Kunikida.

Dazai chuckled a bit covering his mouth looking up at Kunikida from his seat. "Damn Kunikida! You look rough this morning!" exclaimed Dazai.

"Why do you say that?" said Kunikida harshly.

"You have slight eye bags! What happened?Didn't get enough of your "perfect" beautiful sleep last night~?" teased Dazai.

"You're always so insufferable in the mornings."

Today at the agency it was a pretty calm day there weren't any missions only calm investigations.

Kunikida planned to go straight home that day after work but he found himself driving to the cafe. He didn't know why he just did.

When he got there he felt himself looking for something. Or someone? He wasn't sure and didn't know why. He saw the new waitress from yesterday. He saw her cleaning some tables peacefully and was the only one out front considering it was pretty late at night.

"Welcome back Mr.Kunikida!" Said the woman with a peaceful smile.

How did she know my name?

Pondered Kunikida to himself. "Hello there..." he stopped to think of he should ask the lady how she knew his name. "Out of curiosity Ms.. How did you know my name?" He asked curiously.

"Oh! I apologize how weird of me." She said slightly pace palming herself. "I just recently learned your name from the other employees here. They mentioned to me that you've been coming here for well over a year now! Impressive dedication. " She completed.

"Why... thank you. I try to stay consistent." He said accepting the complement. "Say. I never got your name Ms.?"

"Y/N!" she exclaimed quickly. "I apologize for not introducing myself sooner.".

"No. It's alright I get that." He chuckles ever so slightly.

The woman giggles back a little. "Oh! Are you here for the usual Mr.Kunikida?" she asks.

"Yes I guess I am. Oh. And Kunikida is just fine. Just call me Kunikida." He says making eye contact with her.

"Right! I'll get on it...Kunikida." She answers back with her beautiful soft voice.

Time Skip-

The next day Kunikida came back to the cafe twice that day. Usually he spends his work breaks at the office eating a light healthy snack. But today, today was different.

He never changed his schedule and plans for the day but today he did. He went twice to the cafe that day he had no idea why. But he did.

Kunikida found himself doing that for over a 1 month straight.
