Continued from Last Chapter
Y/N remained stone-faced toward the smug looking blonde girl, Cynthia, as they both had their gazes locked on one another for a good long while, each trying to intimidate the other into backing down first. There was a sharp tension in the air that was growing by the second. The quintuplets, who were quite literally caught in the middle of the two, could tell that if it boiled over, it most definitely wasn't going to be pretty.
Y/N looked over at his shoulder where his small blue partner resided and the two of them nodded at one another in understanding. "Hmph...you're quite a big talker, aren't you, Cynthia?" Y/N said with a confident grin. "What say we settle this debate the way Pokémon trainers are supposed to settle this: with a battle!" He said as he pointed a finger directly into Cynthia's face. "Last time I checked, Pokémon Centers always have a battlefield in the back that trainers can use to battle one another.
I, Y/N, challenge you to a battle!"
Cynthia grinned as she reached into her pocket and pulled out a pokeball of her own. "Heh...I don't think you know what you're getting yourself into here, buddy. My level far surpasses yours!" She said with a cocky grin on her face. "Just a fair warning: once I'm done with you, you're going to finally see the light and realize that you don't have what it takes to be champion, or even a trainer for that matter. Heck, you might even give up on being a trainer! After all, you're about to realize that you'll never be able to match my level."
Y/N clicked his tongue in annoyance and narrowed his eyes at the blonde. "First off, we'll just have to see about that, now won't we? Second, I'm not your buddy, friend!"
Cynthia's eyes narrowed as well. "I'm not your friend, bro.
A bolt of electricity shot between their eyes as they gritted their teeth and stepped closer to one another. "I'm not your bro, girl."
"I'm not your girl, buddy."
While this continued on in a repetitive cycle, both Y/N's and Cynthia's competitive spirits became so intense that the sisters could practically see fire practically forming around them. At this rate, the two of them were on the verge of burning down the entire Pokémon Center!
