Stethoscope (Part 2)

Jenna's POV:

After some time, I managed to get Y/N to sleep and I didn't wanna wake her so I decided to go downstairs and watch a movie while she slept in the bedroom.

I jumped slightly when I heard a thump from upstairs and I felt worry rush through my body as I sprinted off the couch and upstairs to the bedroom to see Y/N trapping herself in the corner, her breathing irregular, she looked terrified.

"No, no, no, no. Go away!" She whispered to herself and I'm pretty sure she's thinking about her ex. I spent no time in rushing to her, carefully placing my hands on her shoulders and she jumped at first but when she realized it was me she crashed into my arms. I cradled her as she clung to me for dear life, I felt her tears soaking my shirt but I couldn't care less.

I slowly lifted her up, carrying her to the bed as I reached for my stethoscope again. My mom used to use this for me when I was a kid so I'm hoping it can calm my poor baby down again.

"She's coming back. She's coming back." Y/N repeated over and over in the same terrified whisper as I rocked her back and forth, pressing the stethoscope to her chest softly.

"Shh sh sh, baby. She's never coming back, you'll never ever see her again." I assure her as I kiss her head, cheeks, nose, and forehead. Her heart rate started going down a little as i cradled her, whispering soft words to her in a gentle tone. "It's okay, sweetheart. I promise I'll protect you no matter what. You're safe with me." I promise and it was true, I would go to the ends of the Earth just to make sure she's okay. "I love you so much my sweet baby."

Y/N sniffled as she wiped her eyes on the sleeve of my hoodie. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry I'm such a burden."

"No. No you are not a burden, Cara Mia." I whispered firmly, hooking my finger under her chin to make her look at me, the sight of her red puffy eyes broke my heart. "You're never a burden and you never will be, okay? You. Are. Not. A. Burden." I told her firmly but softly as her heart beat started slowing down to its normal pace and I noticed her eyes filled with love and comfort this time. "I'm so proud of you baby. You are so brave for making it this far, I promise. You're so brave and I'm so proud."

Y/N started tearing up a little more as she nuzzled her nose into my neck, sniffling softly and I wrapped my arms tightly around her, giving her a forehead kiss as I rocked her back and forth. "Thank you for being with me." She whispered tiredly and her voice a little hoarse from the crying she had done.

"I'll always be here. Promise." I gave her another forehand kiss but a little more longer to make sure she knew how much I loved her as I felt her slowly drift off in my arms. I put the stethoscope away again and slowly laid on my back, holding my Y/N on top of me with her head nuzzled in my neck. "Sweet dreams, sweetheart. I love you." I whisper before she fell into a deep sleep, me soon following as well.
