2nd Person POV:

At midnight, the moon hangs high in the sky, a luminous orb casting its silvery glow across the landscape. It's light bathes the world in an ethereal sheen, turning the leaves of trees into shimmering silhouettes and painting the ground with a soft, pale luminescence.

The stars, scattered like diamonds, twinkle faintly in the vast, their brilliance slightly dimmed by the moon's radiance. A gentle breeze whispers through the trees, rustling the leaves and carrying with it the faint scent of night-blooming flowers.

The world is quiet, save for the occasional chirp of a distant cricket or the soft rustle of nocturnal creatures moving through the underbrush. The scene is serene, the moon standing as a silent guardian over the tranquil night.

In the middle of the night, you lie peacefully in bed, wrapped in the soft cocoon of your blankets. The room is dark and still, the only sounds being the faint ticking of a distant clock and your own steady breathing.

You stir in your sleep, the comforting embrace of your dreams slowly giving way to a vague awareness of your surroundings. The soft rustle of the sheets and the distant hum of the night form a gentle cocoon around you.

Suddenly, the sharp creak of a door pierces the quiet, yanking you from your slumber. Your heart races as your eyes fly open, scanning the dark room for the source of the disturbance. The once serene night now feels charged with an unsettling energy, leaving you wide awake and alert.

"Hello?" You call out in an unnerving tone. Sitting up in your bed, you press your back against the headboard while clutching your covers close to your body, as if you hide under them, you'll feel protected.

Another noise startled you as you reached for your emergency hand gun beside your bed. You aimed it at the door only to let out a small yelp when Tara flicked your light on, holding her hands up in the air in defense when she noticed the gun in your hand.

"Baby, it's just me." She chuckled nervously, sighing in relief when you immediately dropped the gun and placed it back in your nightstand drawer. "Did I startle you, love?"

"Yeah, a little." You chuckled sheepishly, scratching the back of your neck. You glanced ay the moon through your crystal clear curtains that illuminated the moonlight in your room. "What're you doing in here?"

"I just wanted to see my girl." Tara smiled sweetly as she collapsed back beside you on the bed with a contented sigh leaving her lips. "I missed you." She grabbed your hand, intertwining your fingers as she pressed a kiss to your arm.

You blushed under her gaze and affectionate side. "I missed you more, Tar." You hummed. Tara slid up in a sitting position, hooking her arm around your shoulders so your head fell on her chest, your body half on hers and half on the bed.

"I can guarantee you that I definitely missed you more." Your girlfriend placed a ghosting kiss along your head, trailing down to the neck. Her lips were soft against the supple skin of your neck, her same breath enveloped you - comforting you better than any blanket you've ever had.

A sudden knock was placed on your door, Sam and the others walked through the door with concerned looks in their eyes. "Y/N, you okay?"

You shot her a soft smile, tightening your hold on Tara. "Yeah, I'm good. Just talking with Tara."

Sam sighed reluctantly. "I thought so." She shared a nervous and unsure look with the others before nodding to herself and hesitantly sitting beside you on your bed. "Y/N, I have to tell you something."

"What is it?" Tara lifted her arm off you and allowed you to face your body towards her to give her your undivided attention.

"Tara died... remember?" Sam had to carefully choose her words; she spaced them out with a soft and gentle tone. If she rose her voice in any way, she was afraid you just might breakdown.

"Wha- Sam, you're crazy." You chuckled unsurely with a faded smile. "I was just talking to her, she's right here." You point towards your girlfriend, arising from your bed.

"Y/N/N, she's not here." Mindy chimed in, fiddling with her fingers. "You've been seeing her a lot."

You placed a hand over your chest as you looked at Tara who shrugged her shoulders. "They don't know what they're talking about, baby. I'm right here." She placed her arms around your waist, your attention now on her.

Your friends shared a look again, watching you slowly piece things together. "See? I'm right here." Tara chuckled slightly, cupping your cheek but you gasped.

"Y/N, run!" Tara screamed at the top of her lungs as she urged you to rush away. You turned around, a scared expression on your face as you tried reaching for her hand but she grabbed your face. "Baby, I need you to run, okay? Do not wait for me, I will try to get out, but your safety matters the most to me. Please! Leave with Sam!"

"Y/N..." Chad stepped forward with caution as you pushed Tara away with tears beginning to stream down your tears.

"Y-you're not here. Oh my god, she's not here." Your shaky hand covered your mouth as you let out hyperventilated breaths. "S-she's gone, Sam, she's gone!" You dropped to your knees crying and sobbing. Sam raised a hand up to Chad and Mindy to stay where they are.

"It's okay, Y/N/N. I got you, she's watching you from above. It's okay." Sam cooed soothingly in your ear but it didn't help. You sobbed uncontrollably for hours on end in Sam's arms, soaking her shirt. They couldn't do anything about it, you lost the love of your life.

You couldn't forget how you lost her anymore.
