Chapter Two

The hotel the Nostrade family decided to stay at was just as luxurious, but you had to be very wealthy to stay. Unlike the hunter's hotel, you wouldn't need proof of a licence to stay and you weren't under the protection of nen. The rooms varied and there were about ten rooms on each floor. But the Nostrade family had booked out a whole floor, Kurapika thought this was a bad idea, since, if they were targeted they would be easier to find, but it was his boss' wishes. The walls were painted a light grey and the floor was marble. It was definitely a nice place. It didn't take Kurapika long to get there at all, he arrived at least ten minutes early. 

The boss liked Kurapika, though he was scary to the young girl, his nen ability was quite extraordinary and fascinating to her. Plus he was strong and a good leader. But that wouldn't stop her from throwing a tantrum whenever she didn't get her way. Kurapika was soon left outside of the boss' room with Melody.

Kurapika couldn't stop thinking about him. Why was he constantly on his mind...? "Kurapika...?" A voice interrupted his constant thought of Leorio Paladinight. He made a small hum to acknowledge her.

"Hello, Melody." He gave a warm smile, she smiled back.

"I couldn't help but notice your heartbeat..." Her finger began painting the air in front of her in an infinite loop of eight. "It sounds so full of love, such a warm love..." she hummed softly "May I ask what's on your mind...?" Kurapika's heartbeat definitely picked up its pace, he knew this, and he knew Melody could hear it.

"J-just a... friend of mine..." He blushed softly, still looking down at her. Melody smiled up at him, dropping her hand.

"Hmm, you seem to feel such a warm feeling whenever this friend gets brought up, may I ask for their name?" She asked quietly.

"It's... Leorio... you've met him before..." He averted his gaze slightly, Melody only giggled softly. But their small talk was cut short once Melody had to take watch of the boss in her room. They were on shifts now, other than Kurapika. Since he was seen as the strongest he would stay outside of the room unless necessary.

Kurapika was left with his thoughts. Was it possible that... no.

'Do I... am I... in love with Leorio..?' The bodyguard asked himself. It definitely wasn't impossible. The way he was comforted that previous night, the way he loved how Leorio could make him feel better with just a single hug, even if Kurapika didn't seem the best with affection. The way that, no matter what, Leorio was always there, smiling, protecting and stopping Kurapika from going overboard whenever he got angry or upset during a fight. He trusted Leorio with his life. Leorio had done so much for him already. They certainly didn't get along immediately, but they both soon found out who the other really was.

Did Leorio like him back? Why was that even a thought in the first place...? He hadn't even confirmed he even liked the taller male with himself. Then again Melody did mention his love-filled heartbeat as he was thinking of Leorio. Maybe that confirmed it then. 

"I... love L-Leorio..." He said to himself, surprisingly causing his heart to fill with warmth. He smiled softly to himself and closed his eyes. He took a deep breath and relaxed his shoulders... He should really focus on his work now.
