Mia's P.O.V
"We have to go." Ames said with a stern voice.
There was a charity ball tomorrow night. Our parents wants us to go but I see no reason why. I of course hated social gatherings like this. Especially if its one where, all of the wealthy people in the city comes to. I might run into people that I do not want to see.
But I know that if I don't go. My father will use force to get me to go.
"I'm not going with you."
"You're not. Just make sure you're there. Unless you want me to drag you there." He threw me a playful smile but deadly too.
Ally came in that afternoon and took me shopping. She was coming to the charity as well.
"So how's it going with Ames?" she asked but seemed unsure if she was asking the right question.
"We still hate each other if thats what you're asking about."
I really didn't mind wearing a causal but still a bit formal dress for the event. But Ally insisted to take advantage of the night. So right now, we're looking for something that will probably be something that I would never wear. Or way too expensive than I want it to be.
"What else?" Ally asked and waited for my answer.
"What do you mean?" I know my friend. She may not have the brightest mind of her choices of boyfriends. But she notices all the little things.
"I know you Mia. You act like you are fine but really, theres something bothering you. Or something happened."
I chose my words carefully.
"Look, I just want this to be over." I thankful that she dropped it.
"Okay, lets get you that dress."
We ended up picking a white short dress. It wasn't too short for my liking so I liked it. It looked pretty simple to me but it still spoke volumes of being expensive. It was good for the night. I didn't want to visit every shop in the city just to get that one dress. Because Ally had a hard time deciding on one dress for herself and I.
After that, we went back to my place. That's when I decided to tell her about my mothers will. I hated keeping it to myself. So I sat her down and told her everything. Except for the what happened with Ames.
"Oh my god, this sounds serious" Ally was somehow excited and a bit worried.
"I honestly don't know what to do." It was true. I was confused but I still needed to make a choice.
"But wait, didn't you say that you're the legal owner when you turn 18?" Ally asked and I nodded in response. "Isn't it your birthday tomorrow?"
I completely forgot about that. I didn't pay attention to the date. And I still haven't made up my mind. What am I going to do? I pressed my hand on my forehead. I have to make a decision.
"Aww, but I wanted to do something with you."
"You're coming with me to the charity ball. That's something"
"Ok, well happy birthday!" she sang happy birthday.
"It's not even my birthday yet" I laughed at her as she ignored me and continue to sing happy birthday
"So?" and thats how we ended up eating a junk full of sweets and every other snacks we had in the cupboards.
It wasn't until I realised that it was way pass Ally's curfew. So I called my driver to take her home. When I walked back to the living room. It was fully trashed. Thank you Ally, for the early birthday gift. I was exhausted and the only thing I wanted to do was just to bed. But instead, I grabbed a rubbish bag. One by one I picked up every rubbish. By the time I was finish, my eyes were dropping every second. I finally gave up and let myself fall asleep.
