Chapter Thirteen

Ray's Pov

It's quite shocking that L/n agreed to help us. Who knew all it took for her to agree to help us was Norman talking to her. Maybe she has a soft spot for him.

"What are you looking at me like that for?! Is it that surprising?" L/n questions as everyone looks at her in surprise.

"We just didn't expect you to agree so easily." Hermione clarifies.

"Don't get me wrong, I still think your plan is absolutely ridiculous. The only reason I'm doing this is to prove that Snape is innocent." Norman looks at L/n proudly, like a proud mama hen, watching her chick learn to fly. Chickens are also known for being infamously bad at flying. I snort under my breath at the thought.

"So The Philosopher's Stone is what Fluffy is guarding. We should go down to Hagrid and tell him what we know and try to get more information from him. L/n, you're coming with us." Hermione plans and we stand up.

"Fluffy? What does this have to do with Hagrid?" L/n asks as Norman grabs her hand so she can't run away from us.

"I'll explain on the way." Norman reassures her. When we're leaving the classroom Emma shoots a small glare at L/n and Norman's hands.

By the time we reach Hagrid's hut Norman has caught L/n up on everything that has happened and about Fluffy and Hagrid.

"So that's why you guys suspect him, because you thought he put a curse on Potter's broom?" L/n questions.

"Wait, what do you mean by 'thought'?" I ask L/n.

"Back in the quidditch match, I saw Professor Quirrel curse his broom, and Snape was only trying to stop it." She clarifies. We all look at L/n in shock, she's very good at noticing things, even when she's doing something else it seems.

"Now, why are we going to his hut so late at night?" She questions, turning her head to look at Hermione for answers.

"Because it's the only time we're all free." Hermione answers her. She nods and soon we are at Hagrid's door. Harry knocks on Hagrid's door and he answers it. Hagrid is wearing an apron and oven mitts. L/n looks confused as to why he is wearing them, and I feel the same way.

"Hagrid!" Harry exclaims in happiness.

"Oh, hello. Sorry, don't wish to be rude, but I'm in no fit state to entertain today." He begins to close the door to his hut on us.

"We know about The Philosopher's Stone!" Harry, Ron, and Hermione yell out, with Harry holding the door so he can't close it. He looks shocked for a minute before then opening the door back open, offering for us to go inside. When we step inside he closes the door behind us. We walk into his hut and Hermione, Ron and Harry sit down, the rest of us stand up.

"We think Snape's trying to steal it." Harry tells Hagrid with a serious expression.

"Snape? Blimey, Harry, you're not still on about him, are you?" Hagrid questions.

"Believe it or not, he is." L/n interrupts them with a scoff.

"Hagrid, we know he's after the Stone. We just don't know why." Harry presses on, ignoring L/n.

"Snape is one of the teachers protecting the Stone! He's not about to steal it!"

"What?"

"Knew it~" L/n brags in a sing-song tone.

"You heard. Right. Come on, now, I'm a bit preoccupied today."

"Wait a minute." Harry interjects. I see L/n look over at something and it's Hagrid's dog, Fang. He looks back at her and starts to walk over to her. He starts sniffing her legs, causing L/n to move behind Norman with fear drawn across her face. Fang keeps following her around so she walks in circles around Norman, using him to block Fang from her. It's quite an amusing sight to watch.
