Liam’s POV:
“So you already have a wife and children? I don’t think I know about that?” I heard Harry said. When I turned to him, he was leaning on the door’s edge with his palms inside his pockets. By the way, we are here in Lou’s house.
“Listening to the elders’ conversation is so bad, Hazz…” I said fixing my things on the cabinet.
“Well, I am bad…”
“Why did you tell her?”
“Why do you let Kaye believe that you are really engaged and now married with children?”
I faced Harry and approached him, “I’ll jjust talk to you later, Hazz… you see, they are all waiting outside…”
I was about to go out when Harry stopped me by my shoulder.
“She’s also outside Liam… I’m sure she’s expecting to see your wife… your children…”
I met Harry’s eyes, “Then I’ll show them to her…”
“Don’t be such a namby-pamby, man. I know what you feel, I know what she feels and I also know that you both know that you feel the same…”
“You know everything, huh? So what do you want me to do? Tell me...”
“Explain, Liam… I want you to tell me what’s wrong… From keeping your illness up to this… why all these lies?”
We are both not moving from our places. Just like that… until I pulled my face.
“Forget about it. It’s all over. I can handle everything…”
“Handle everything? What the blimey fuck? So we are just these useless morons over here? What’s happening?”
I faced Harry who’s face is now saying “I want answers!”. I took a deep breath and leaned on the other edge of the door. I also put my palms inside my pockets then I raised my head.
“you really want to know?”
“yeah…”
“All my life, Hazz I am weak. All my life I am a dumbass. Afraid to take any risk, afraid to try anything.and you know what? Because of that, I lost two important persons in my life. It was my fault. I was the reason. They both care for me. They both love me but what happened? Where are they? They are gone. They left me, Hazz…”
“But why--- it’s not only them who love you, who care for you… we are all here. What are you thinking? That we will also,leave you?”
“I learned how to be strong. With my Dad who’s always not around, I’ve been independent. I used to be alone… but she came. She came and changed everything…”
Harry who’s looking on the windows, abruptly turned to me. I reckon he figured out who I am referring to...
“Right what’s on your mind Hazz. She came and let me realize that I can’t stand alone forever. She let me realize that I am incomplete and she was there to fill all those spaces in my life. I learned to care, to love..Everyday… everyday I am wishing, praying that she won’t go. She won’t be gone.”
Harry is just staring to me, listening. This is my first one on one, deep talk with a guy. Perfect, cause it’s with Harry…
“This sounds so silly but I was returned being independent. And it was to her, to Maria Kaye… Goody Hazz, I’m Dramatic on here.”
