I finish up an extra shift at the Diner and come home to find Mickey's little sister on the sofa with Ian and Carl sat on the floor. "Hey. Your Mick's sister right?" I ask as I set the bag I was holding down and hang my jacket up.
"Yh. Mandy. You know him?" She asks as she sits up a little more. "He comes to the diner a lot. Heart attack sub, no onions, extra pickle. Orders the same thing every time." I say with a smile and she laughs a little. "Yeah sounds like him."
"I'm Phoebe by the way. Are you staying for dinner? I brought left overs, Bunch of steaks need cooking today or they'll go bad." I hold up the bag and walk towards the kitchen. "Um, no thanks. I already ate."
Carl comes over and hugs me tightly. I smile and kiss the top of his head and he grabs his action figure from the table before sitting back down on the living room floor. I grab a bag of fries from the freezer. "Red have you eaten?"
"Yeah! Its just you, Carl and Deb. Fi's with Tony, Liam is asleep and Lip is with Karen." He calls back and I pour enough fries for three onto a tray and place it in the oven. I then take out a pan and start cooking off the steaks. I kept them simple with salt, pepper, butter and rosemary. Since they all needed to be cooked I did all of them and what ever was left could be eaten tomorrow or turned into steak sandwiches for school lunches.
Everything was almost done when Ian comes in and grabs a few beers from the fridge. "How was your day?"
"It was okay. Once of my teachers, Mr. Bancroft, practically shoved his boner in Mandy's face so I tripped him over with my bag. But now she won't leave me alone." He whispers looking over his shoulder as if Mandy was about to jump out of no where.
"Okay. You go give her the beer and I will call you to do something in a minute." I say and push him out of the kitchen. I let the steaks rest and cover them in foil. "Ian can you go get Debs and check on Liam for me. Carl come wash up and help me set the table." I call out and Ian runs up stairs while Carl comes to me. I smile at him before going to the living room.
I sit on the coffee table in front of Mandy and smile kindly. "Don't try anything with Ian. My brother already has his eyes set on someone else and I know that your advances are making him uncomfortable but he's too polite to say anything. I just don't want you to get hurt or upset when he doesn't return you affections. Okay? Alright good talk." I leave her shocked and as Ian comes down the stairs with Deb she storms out of the house with her jacket.
"Liam's sound asleep." Ian hands me the baby monitor before hugging me. "Thanks"
"Anytime Red." I pat his cheek before turning to Debs. "Hey Debs. Steak and fries for dinner today." I dish up and we all sit to eat. "Thanks Pheebs." Deb and Carl both say as Ian finishes watching TV.
The three of us talk about our day. Debs was thinking about joining the debate team and Carl wanted to try out for Football but didn't know if he could because of his grades. "You can still try out. Maybe you can even use it as extra credit towards PE?" I suggest and his mood seems to brighten.

After we eat I wash up and send them both up to brush their teeth and get ready for bed. The baby monitor lights up as Liam's cries come from the speaker. Sighing I warm some milk up in the microwave. Once its warm enough I add in some honey and cinnamon. I pour it into a sippy cup and take it upstairs.
"Hi, Baby. You hungry?" I pick the crying baby up and sit on Deb's bed. I hold the bottle to his mouth and he calms down and holds the bottle himself. I keep my hand underneath it just in case he let go. Deb sits next to me and starts ready a Dr. Sues book to him. I smile and shift so she can lean against me.
